This is not a poll, just an opportunity for anyone who cares to express themselves. Let's limit it to major pro teams, not necessarily the top 10-20, but at least teams one is likely to see on OLN coverage.
My vote would be Panaria. I just love that particular combination of bright colors. Second would be Kelme.

Well, that goes without saying. That's why I limited the field of consideration. Otherwise it just wouldn't be fair to all the other teams. :D
I actually think most of the jerseys are pretty good looking. Some, though, make me wonder what the designer was thinking. And some of those shorts are NOT flattering from behind at all.

Rainman, here's a laugh for your day today. I saw your post and thought "Cool, what are good riding teams and clubs in New Jersey." I was surprised you had posted this becuase I didn't recall you being from "Jersey" since I do take note of local riders. Anyway, I figured out what your post meant when I read it.
I don't have any opinion at all except that the guy in the orange has amazing legs.

LOL! I do that kind of thing, too!

He does, doesn't he. (Did I say that out loud?)

Euskadi! Of course I would say as I a am a big fan and have a history there.
However get rid of teh (*&^*%^&(* ORANGE.
Please go back to traditional colours. Not as flashy but an honour for Euskal Herria

Rainman, I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who does goofball things. :)
You're a real man to be able say (and say it "outloud" to boot) that he has great legs. He does, it's that simple.

Although there can be a fair amount of dispute about this, I believe Domo have the best shirt. With an honourable mention for Credit Agricole and the former Casino team.
And don't think anyone will ever don a shirt as ugly as that of the Z-Legeay team with which LeMond had a contract once. Also the designer of the former Gan outfit needs to be shot.

domo jersey very classic. I like that! domo (http://www.cyclingteams.com/domo.html)
Credit Agricole - not my tastes agricole (http://www.cyclingteams.com/jerseys/agricole.jpg)
I couldn't find the others Vers mentioned.

I prefer Fassa Bartolo Jersey, its clean and very sporty....

That's why it is hard to pick just one. For the most part, I like understatement so Domo and Fassa Bortolo fit that bill. But I do like Credit Agricole for some reason. But then, I can also really get into flashy, like Hawaiian or aloha print shirts, of which I now have a collection of about 7! So I also like Euskatel-Euskadi and Rabobank. But then the green and blue of Kelme-Costa Blanca is kind of relaxing. And since I am riding a Giant right now, I root a little for ONCE.
But when it gets right down to it, I just love those flashy Panaria colors. Wish they were in the Tour.
Xavier, now I will have to do some research to learn about Euskal Herria. A good friend of mine is of Basque descent and I have had a bit of a fascination for the Basque people.

Raymond

It's hard picking the best jersey, but I think Telekom's is the worst. I just look at all that pink and I feel my strength draining away. Hey! Maybe that's the idea!
:thumbdn:
'Victoire, I agree. Z-legeay jersey was pretty hideous. Didn't it have, like, a Z with a little puff coming out? I thought it looked like a Z cutting a f@rt.
My favorites? I like some of the older jerseys of teams-gone-by, like 7-11, Cafe de Columbia, and Subaru-Montgomery.

I actually find most popular pro team jerseys attractive. That's why I like wearing them (they come cheap here, just $6 each) while riding. Of course, there are a few ugly ones tha I would never want to be caught dead in. One is the Z jersey that Greg Lemond used to wear. Just for the record, the coolest one right now is the USPS jersey. Don't flame me for liking it, I almost dropped $65 for one when I was in the US....but I thought about the $6 versions that would soon be coming out in my country.

I would say that the best all time jersey is the La Vie Claire jersey of Greg LeMond and Bernard Hinault. A Mondrian (sp?) design in red, yellow, blue and grey. In '86 they had a battery sponsor, and their backs looked like they had huge D batteries.
Current jersey, I would have to go with last season's Rabobank (this season's is horrible) or Domo.
Worst jersey of all time, Ton Ton Tapis or Tulip. Ton Ton had this black and white strip thing with a guy holding a roll of carpeting on it. Tulip was sea foam green. Geesh.
Current worst would be either Jelly Belly (US) or Jean Delatour, although at least their colors are a bit less harsh on the eyes this season.

I agree with Ovalmaster. Jelly Belly( a local race team to me by the way, headquartered in No. San Diego County) is pretty impressive going down the road. Catches your eye like Mapei's does. Jelly Belly, yes best 'domestic jersey.' When I saw Tour De France go by, noticed stripes on racing shorts of Telekom are reflecterized, great for being seen..Don't care for pink. Guess, Livingston cares for the green more than the pink?
Among category 1 pros', I vote a tie vote. Last year's U.S. Postal and Euskatel. The uniforms the pro's wear are meant to be screaming. You try to catch out one team in the maze at 30 mph.
Even though I vote for Euskatel, jersey I broke down and bought, Cofidis. Pretty impressive. Reason, before Armstrong- Julich merited the colors.

Hate to say it, but I've still got a Team Z jersey (and postcards and water bottle) as I watched Robert Millar do the last stage of the TdF when he was cycling with Z
Still fits too.
Could I put a vote in for the mid 90's Festina Jersey?
Yeah - where $6 jerseys? I bet I am closer than most to there. :)
BTW - I think Rabo is pretty classy, but then maybe you would expect me to say that.
Cheers...Gary

Worst now: Mobilvetta
Best all time: La Vie Claire, Team Z and Peugeot [gotta love the chequer].

The last year for Mapei was my all-time favorite. I always thought they were an ice cream company until we bought tile to redo our kitchen. I usually buy a jersey from all the great teams as they fold (Once, Coast, Saturn, etc.).
Current CSC (I have to say that).

That was a good one...I have to remind this.
What about the retro or either neo-classic Bianchi jersey ?
Ok, meanwhile itīs history but I liked that celeste.
Somehow I feel, Ullrich was always wearing gay colors...first pink, then this light green...
Mapei is also some of my all time favorites. By the way, I never thought they wee producing ice-cream...
Mercatone Uno of 2000 was also good looking with this bright yellow.
Current CSC (I have to say that).
Retro Cinzano
MartyIs that the black wool one? A friend of mine wore his just the other day. I wouldn't want to wear it in summertime.
How 'bout the La Vie Claire jersey from the Lemond/Hinault days with the Mondrian look?
yup thats the one.
There is a white Cinzano, but it just doesn't have the
same visual impact.

Anyone have a link or a picture?
I'd love to see what that looked like, since it was before I "followed" the TdF/pro biking, and a "Lemond jersey" search on Google came up empty.

Thanks, Steve E.
That's a very cool design - sorta "classic modern". I agree, it's a sharp look.

I really liked the 7-11 jersey for a lot of reasons. It was really the first look of Americana at the TDF and on the European scene. It stood out, was professional and was worn by some great riders that I loved to follow.
Greg Lemond looked classy in the Renault/Elf jersey. Seemed to pull off that yellow jersey pretty well too.
Once/Eroski is a nice one - like the yellow better than the pink. For some reason I like Gerolsteiner and Vini Caldiorla/Sodi.

I'd LOVE to find one of those La Vie Claires in XL, since I have a new LeMond Buenos Aires, to pay a bit more homage to the first American to win the TdF - but it doesn't look like any of the retro or vintage jersey online stores carry ANYTHING of LeMond's, that I could find. (Those Cinzano wool jerseys ARE classic, though - damn good-looking, and tempting if they weren't so expensive.)

Ho-hum. I guess I like Illes Balears-Banesto the best. Budgets must be too tight to hire a designer with any sense of style. I mean, look at Quickstep... I expect better from the Italians! ;)

just a thought..Sort of consider the Bike Forums jersey sort of a team? It is a stretch, I know.....But if we could all ride together, would be the biggest bike team in the world..?
Outsiders see us all wearing the same jersey, they would consider it so..If it were to happen!

the new jersey reminds me of Telekom in, I guess, 1995 or 1996. It more or less looked the same.
