I love the picture in your sig line. It's so beautiful. It looks like the rain forest in Washington that we visited on our road trip. Where is it?
P.S. You kick a$$. :D

Beautiful! Gawd, I love that place! It made me feel so alive and peaceful! I don't think that is crazy at all. If loving nature and trees makes you a crazy ol' hippy, then I guess I am one too! :)
Here is me in the Olympic National Forest playing on a giant tree root.

The fallen trees themselves are amazing. Their death serves as life for thousands, probably millions more. Animals, insects, birds living within and new trees forming new worlds grow on top. Eventually the tree becomes the earth and it gives back all that it took from it in life.

I consider Maelstrom the luckiest of us all. He gets to play everyday it doesn't rain, which is like three days a year!;)
:D
Raises hippy hand too.
They paved paradise and put up a parking lot. :(
I'm no hippy, cuz I like metal. But nature rocks, trees rock, rocks rock. Wiping my butt with twigs and rocks rocks. WOOOOT

In other news, I just went on a barefoot trail ride in the rain. The sun is setting, misty half-light in the dusk...They didn't pave it all, thank Minerva!

Somewhat related to hippies, but I was watching Dharma & Greg on WE today and Dharma's parents were riding their bikes everywhere. Abby (the mother) was fine while Larry (the father) was out of breath and cramping. He also had two Take-a-Look mirrors on his helmet, one on either side. It was his idea to "not harm the planet and be a slave to the earth killing oil conglomerates" by using their own energy to travel. At the end of the show he gave it up as he crossed the Golden Gate (I think) bridge.

I think you are confused.. I am pretty sure the trees in Marin county are Redwoods. The seqouia's are inland.. also, the coast of washington gets way more rain than the bay area does.
Anyway, that is a beautiful area, we went to the very north tip of the coast.. neah bay/cape flattery. There are some nice cliffs above the water that you can hike to and watch otters and stuff swim around.

Calm down tonto :D...rain is awesome, nothing is better than a pnw misting while riding through one of those forests....its absolutely serene...clostest thing I have come to believing in a god...in fact it getting a little misty right now and I am heading out on a trail ride with the gf...time to escape reality for a couple of hours :)
You ever gonna make it up here to ride...whats even more shocking is a day iin kamloops, whistler and then the shore...3 close locations with entirely different terrains :)
^^ yeah, we play in the rain in the nw.

Yeah, I'm probably confused. I'm no tree expert. The big ones, thats what I'll call them. As for the rain, its about the same in the winter, and thats when I like to visit the PRK. Everything is nice and green, and tourists aren't all over the place.

Both Sequoias and Redwoods are found in the area. Sequoias are thicker and stouter and Redwoods are taller.

Man, I got rejected both in real life and the internets.
I definately miss riding up there. Didn't do any riding on the Olympic Peninsula, but did a little hiking. Never made it into the Hoh Rainforest, but did a little hiking around there. Mostly Hurricaine Ridge. Come to think of it, I did do some riding... on a motorcycle. All the way out to Neah Bay and around Crescent Lake etc.
Also flew over the area almost daily... just spectacular; well, when there weren't any clouds below us.
