Hi
I am Afrikaans- speaking and from the northern suburbs of Capetown, close to Parow/ Bellville- In Capetown most people will not be offended by Afrikaans as most locals speak or understand it. Please note, that Afrikaans are only spoken(understood) in South Africa and Namibia, apart from South Africans elsewhere. Don't crucify me for grammatical errors as i'm not English speaking.

As for the apartheid issue, most "coloured" people in South Africa(except for Kwa Zulu -Natal) speak Afrikaans, and so do indigenous people in the Northern Cape and Northwest Province. Sorry for referring to the colour. I went up Table Mountain 2 years ago with a Belgian guy. He asked me to speak Afrikaans as he understood it beter than English

ITO cycling- i bought a secondhand roadbike recently and went for 3 rides every Saturday and Sunday- i had a burglary at my house and they stole only the bike and a spare, old, cheap cellphone. I'm riding my daughters' cheap old unused "Wallmart" bike and plan to ride it weekends until I have enough money to buy another secondhand Tiagra bike(or until its components pack up). After 10am im taking it for another 3 hour ride to the Durbanville area. It is a public holiday today in SA, 27 April. We are celebrating the 1st democratic elections which took place on this day in 1994, when Mr Mandela was voted in.

I've been reading BF since Dec 2010 and don't see may replies from SA cyclists. Ek dink nie hulle het tyd vir klets voor die rekenaar nie, hulle is besig om myle op hulle fietse te sit.

Ek is 'n Health Inspector en werk in 'n township, Khayelitsha. Is daar nie werk in Amerika nie? (ek grap sommer)
