it was way back in '98. i was more of a honda guy at that point, and i never would have guessed that ford would be the sole engine supplier eight years later.

maybe i'll change her name to panoz-cosworth.

That would be a neat trick if you could still get her to answer.

Hi, I'm Ron. That's me and my IF Club Racer in England a few years ago. I live in Topanga and mostly stick to the westside. You'll usually catch me riding up and down PCH. I recently went down to Palos Verdes for the first time, I'll be doing that again. I also ride around Topanga some, but I'm really just getting back into after a minor two year hiatus away from the bike. Once I catch my hill legs again, you'll see me on these group mountain rides.

Welcome Ron.

It must be tough to bathe her since she ate your legs.

No we don't! We drink or we ride but we don't do both at the same time. That would be dangerous. ;)

Steve, 41, transplanted Atlantan in Palos Verdes; just started back riding last year. I do 35-50 mile rides with some centuries thrown about. I'm hoping to start triathlon training next year.

I’m finally getting around to this.

Hey all, I'm Ralph and I really do live in Santa Ana near Sunflower and Fairview. It’s only about two miles from the SART and that's where I spend most of my time. It's not the biggest challenge, but I can get there on a lightly traveled road safely (Sunflower) and ride nonstop (when it's not being worked on) all day long.

I bought my first road bike when I was 16 or so, a Peugeot U08 and have ridden off and on ever since. I rode a steel Specialized Allez in the 80's and early 90’s and just brought it out of retirement again about three years ago. When I started seeing all the new bikes with the really wide rear ends I looked into it and walked out the same day with my 04 Specialized Roubaix Pro. I ride as much as possible and mostly ride with a great group of guys I meet on the SART about a year and a half ago. And have been on a number of rides with BF group members, including the Apple Pie Ride, the Baldy ride and a few others.

I’m divorced with a ten year old daughter that I have about half the time, so when I’m with her I don’t ride. So I can sometimes go a couple of weeks without getting in more than a couple of rides. So I’m constantly fighting the battle of the bulge and at 50, the bulge appears to be winning.

Say “hey” if you see me on the SART.

Mine will not impress you, Man from Down Under. It's a mere Trek 1500 Women's Specific (I just have to add that because I like saying it - :p ). Anyway, it's all aluminum with a carbon fork. My Dad bought it for me, and he offered to spend more for a nicer bike. But he's retired and I would rather he keep his money for the future. In the meantime, I'm thrilled to have my "cadillac" - it fits me like a glove and is very reliable. :D

Look it...if you're wearing tight shorts and a muscle tee, I'll chase you up and down those sand dunes all day long. Now that would be an "off bike" training method I'd enjoy. And it's doubtful I'd spew. I'm pretty tough. ;)

If I had offered to rub his bare body down with sand and then lick it off - now THAT would have been dirty. I was merely speaking in training terms that if he were here running me up and down sand dunes, I suspect I'd have proper motivation. See? Completely clean and appropriate. ;) Besides, you stay out of it.
