i have a lowrider bike and im wanting to drop the front end. it will no longer be rideable which is ok, im gonna make it a "show" for my son.
im thinking i can take the spring out of the fork head assembly, leave the rubber bushing between the bolt head and crown, and insert another rubber bushing (they use skateboard bushings) between the crown and the crown ring (in place of the spring) this wont lower it much though, so im trying to come up with other ways to lower it more.
i was also wondering if i can turn the the crown ring backward (threaded hole facing the seat-would need to grind off tooth,) install the crown backward, and the re-attach the forks and bars.

has anyone ever tried any of this or does anyone know a way to do something like this?
thanks, fast eddie

There are springer forks for lowrider bikes that are designed to do the kind of drop you are talking about. You take off a bolt and it drops to the ground. Put it back on and it becomes rideable again. Used to know a guy who had one on his, but I don't remember the brand.
