Classic & Vintage - Image test

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Can anyone tell me why the image I am linking to doesn't show up imbedded in my post? I am using the format url for my image
Not sure why but it does the same thing if I try to insert an
image from wooljersey.com
I'll ask the admins if they have any idea.

.. test?
Well, it appears that Yahoo is hiding the actual JPG file in some sort of page that prevents you from knowing the true path and then hot linking it. I'll play with it a bit and see if I can find any way of making it work for you.
Yahoo must not like direct image links from their photo album. :( Nice looking schwinn though.

This image is from Wool Jersey. If you are taking the url that appears in the address line at the top of your browser, it does not work. Right click on the image and use "Copy image location" or its equivalent and it should work. This does not appear to work for Yahoo.
EDIT: Wool Jersey has small and large images. This technique does work for both. The image above is the smaller on wool Jersey.
CV-6 has the best solution for *most* websites that you want to grab an image from. Yahoo, however, has gone out of their way to make that impossible.
P.S. - the more C-Record I see, the more I want, no, need it.
damn,
I never knew that. . . I tried to copy URL

Thanks guys.
I guess I will ditch Yahoo and open a Wooljersey account.
Yes, that's the image, but as you can see, it's still not self opening like the other ones posted above. It must be a Yahoo thing. BTW, nice bikes guys!

Eric, at the risk of being accused of shilling, I really like the way Photobucket presents hosted images. You get a choice of grabbing the URL, tag, or IMG.
Here's what it looks like:

Eric,
How did you find 40+ year old bikes with such pristine original paint? All three Schwinns are stunning!

+1 on photobucket, very easy to use.
Thanks Stan, leunkstar, and merlinextaligh. I will check these two hosting services out. I appreciate the suggestions. I need to learn how to do some of this html stuff.
Pastorbob,
As usual, I think the photos make the bikes look better than they do in person. The flaws don't really show up very well in the rather small photos.
The paint & decals on the '62 Paramount and Superior are worn and I have touched them up on the Paramount. The color on the Superior(Radiant Gold) is strange and I haven't found a close match which will allow me to do any touching up. The photo of the Superior is an old one provided by the seller before I bought the bike. The bike is now completely overhauled and refurbished closer to original. I need to shoot a new set of photos of it.
When I found the Sierra, it had seventies vintage Schwinn 10 speed components on it. It was a wreck, but the paint and decals on the main triangle were in good condition. The seller couldn't believe that I made a 300 mile round trip to the inner city of Chicago to buy this "junk" bike. The right chainstay near the chainrings had a hole worn through it by either a chainring or a chain. I'm not sure how this happens, but I have seen this type of damage before. I had to weld up the chainstay then strip and repaint the rear triangle. I used Pete's paint and got a very good color match. Fortunately, I had the correct parts to put the bike back together as it was originally. Unfortunately I didn't know as much about how it was originally equipped as I do now, so some of the parts are incorrect(Sprint stem, hubs and quick releases). Eventually I will replace these with the correct parts. The bike is a '63 model, but I built it as a '64 model. I think I will return it to being a '63. I have a '64 waiting in the queue for rebuilding.
Now if I could just find that oh so elusive 22" blue '63 Superior! Rare as hens teeth!

Flickr works fine, too, with the right-click getting the image information. All you use is the stuff up to .jpg And I think it's a fun concept, also.
the company does plastic coated windows frames?
plastic cover?
ok, what does it mean (I bet its something idiomatic)
and does this mean I should NEVER wear that out ?

thats it
kunstof means plastic
kozijnen means windows frames
but it's just so funny that sponsors of low class riding teams always seem so vulgair. Butchers, car mechanics, etc, etc ;)
