Yippee! Carpool. This is going to be so much fun. I'm really a chipper morning person. I whistle, sing, clap and just generally am really loud. Stuff a McDonald's Egg McMuffin in my mouth and this will be avoided. :D
Yeah Ill be finding my own ride then.

Oh, was that a typo? I thought it was a euphemism for something that goes with lounging...:p
merider1, will you carpool with me in the future when appropriate if I buy you breakfast? That's a pretty cheap price for having ride company on longer drives.

Why yes, Jason, of course I'd carpool with you! :) You don't even have to buy me breakfast, but I can guarantee you, you will be wanting to stuff an EMM in my mouth within 1/2 hour of the drive...:D

Is "Egg McMuffin" a euphemism for something?
What's an EMM? This list (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EMM) at Wikipedia isn't much help. Unless you're trying to suggest I should shove a share of the Wilshire Mid Cap Index (will Barclays iShares do?) in your mouth. Why I would do that, I haven't the faintest clue.

Oh... I see. I should have read more carefully.

I don't know, Voltman, why don't you tell me what it could be a euphemism for???
Wait... you want me to shove a piece of food in your mouth? I know having someone feed you is fun, but having someone shove food in your mouth isn't quite as fun. I think the last time someone fed me was in summer 1998 when I refused to eat dinner one day and a friend of mine kept holding single spoonfuls of food right in front of me to encourage me to eat.

:roflmao: OMG! the Wilshire Mid Cap Index??? That HAS to be a euphemism (I don't know about you, Jason, I think you are not as "innocent" as you pretend). And look it, you can try to shove it in my mouth if you think it will fit. I've had some pretty large things shoved in there, so I'm up for the challenge. :D

No... it's just a metric to measure the collective value of medium sized publicly traded companies in the US stock exchanges. Sorry... on the side, I'm a financials geek. While other kids read up on their athletic heros, I was trying to learn how the financial markets worked. Gotta fund my expensive toys somehow, you know.
See... I'm plenty innocent.

I'm not all that chipper, but I made myself somewhat of a morning person with my early work schedule. If Merider is really too talkative, we'll all take turns finding something to shove in her mouth.
I meant food, of course :D Or did I?

My, my, my...how you boys are just sliding right on down that dirty, grime-filled, slime-encrusted slope, aren't you? I meant food and FOOD only - big, round, warm, thick, salty and satisfying, followed by a swig and swallow of that rich, strong, cream-filled power juice. Egg McMuffin and coffee. Geesh! :D

Ummm, about what speed are you guys planning on doing this in? I just did a 53 miler, flatter than Solvang, in 3:37 (rolling time only) and my legs feel like jell-o. Just want to make sure I won't be holding everybody up.

Riding in the Prelude this weekend? Better watch the forecast carefully because there's a possibility of rain. Here's two, usually accurate, weather links for the area:

If it rains, I quit. And I don't care who reads this and shakes his/her head in utter disgust. I'm not willing to be rained on in those hills again. So it will be raincheck! Then I'll hit the wineries. Wait a minute...I'm carpooling. Bill? Urbanknight? You with me on this or do I have to twist both of your arms? :D
I'm going to be riding the 50 miler this weekend and I was wondering if a group has been put together and where are you going to meet? I would like to meet and ride with some fellow BikeForum members. I'd like an excuse to wear my new BikeForums jersey. Can we set something up?

If you like beer, go to the Taproom Restaurant in Buellton. Firestone Walker owns it. Great beer!!

Great place for super-fresh brews made onsite, music, food and all around fun atmosphere, especially after a beautiful all day ride in the Valley. Here's the website:http://www.firestonewalker.com/sections/drink_firestone/buellton_taproom.html And here's a brief review of the place I found: http://www.santabarbara.com/winecountry/brewcountry/default.asp http://www.firestonewalker.com/sections/firestonebeers/images/dba_12oz.jpg

I don't mind riding in slight rain, but that's usually a 1 hour loop near home. The part that bothers me is being 30 miles from the start when the slight rain turns into rain.
