Yippee! Carpool. This is going to be so much fun. I'm really a chipper morning person. I whistle, sing, clap and just generally am really loud. Stuff a McDonald's Egg McMuffin in my mouth and this will be avoided. :D

Why yes, Jason, of course I'd carpool with you! :) You don't even have to buy me breakfast, but I can guarantee you, you will be wanting to stuff an EMM in my mouth within 1/2 hour of the drive...:D

What's an EMM? This list (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EMM) at Wikipedia isn't much help. Unless you're trying to suggest I should shove a share of the Wilshire Mid Cap Index (will Barclays iShares do?) in your mouth. Why I would do that, I haven't the faintest clue.

I think the last time someone fed me was in summer 1998 when I refused to eat dinner one day and a friend of mine kept holding single spoonfuls of food right in front of me to encourage me to eat.

No... it's just a metric to measure the collective value of medium sized publicly traded companies in the US stock exchanges. Sorry... on the side, I'm a financials geek. While other kids read up on their athletic heros, I was trying to learn how the financial markets worked. Gotta fund my expensive toys somehow, you know.

Ummm, about what speed are you guys planning on doing this in? I just did a 53 miler, flatter than Solvang, in 3:37 (rolling time only) and my legs feel like jell-o. Just want to make sure I won't be holding everybody up.

I probably won't ride in the rain either. My carpool plans are tentative because the inlaws and wife might come with. It's ok, I like them.

If you like beer, go to the Taproom Restaurant in Buellton. Firestone Walker owns it. Great beer!!

Come on you rainbirds. Don't give up already. It isn't going to rain but even if it does, it will be very slight. Start thinking more positively on how much fun y'all are going to have.

I don't mind riding in slight rain, but that's usually a 1 hour loop near home. The part that bothers me is being 30 miles from the start when the slight rain turns into rain.
