Touring - Anyone cross Illinois mid-state ?

Will be doing some touring this September and was looking for a fairly direct route across Illinois on lesser traveled roads near mid state like around Quincy, IL to Danville, IL. Anybody have any suggestions on this leg for me? As always, thanks for your help.

Not to sound too flippant, but why? I say that having lived in central Illinois for many years.

Which reminds me, the online version is iffy somedays. I noticed local state rep and state senator's offices tend to keep these hanging around if you want to get a hold of these maps asap.

They also have an online form to order em free. Takes a while, but its free. Biks shops might also have them.

I've noticed the online maps only like IE so if you're using Firefox you may have to switch. You may also want to contact some of the clubs in that area (Peoria Wheelmen, McLean County Wheelers). Lots of paved roads which at this time of the year will be filled with farm equipment. Pancake flat except for glacial and river features. Hope you like the wind!

Thanks for your input, I did order and receive the state maps but I've found in the past that their idea of a cautious vs. dangerous vs. an outstanding route is not what I've always found. Just curious what routes people have used. On paper route 136 seems to be pretty efficient but don't have a clue what it is like. Oh and about the wind, yea, another good reason to own a triple.
