I sailed through the Suez Canal once. That is as close as I came to being on Egyptian soil. I would love to get there and ride someday but I don't think it would be anytime soon.

My name is Ahmed Hamzawy, me and my friends started Cairo Cycler's Club, we have weekly tours every friday from Agouza to Zamalek, you can find our group on facebook where you can join us and learn more about our events and the other members, or visit www.cairocyclersclub.com

All you need is your bike ;) it's ok if you don't have one "but you better do" you can rent a bike as many members do. It doesn't matter what's you bike mtb, road, fixie or whatever we just hanging out and enjoying fun with the nile scenes.

I lived in Alex from 2001 to 2004 and rode, mostly on Friday. Used to go out to Rashid and back. Sometimes rode from Sidi Abdel Rahman either east or west, and did a few rides on the Sinai with the Cairo Cycling Club. Never saw many cyclists in Alex, the most we ever had for a ride was 4. Glad to see you are keeping the sport going.....
