Hello,

I'm starting a new thread because the old one is just plain confusing now.

The first order of BF jerseys has gone out, and while we wait for our jerseys to come in, and for those that missed the last order, let's start seeing some new designs.

Submission deadline will be November 1st. On that date, I will create another poll so we can decide on the 2nd (and probably last, as far as my involvement) Bike Forums jersey.

The designer that wins the votes will get a FREE jersey! Joe (forum janitor) will also get a FREE jersey.

So, post away your designs in this thread!

I don't wear jerseys, any chance of getting T-shirts too? :)

Maybe you should slow it down a bit and let the other ones circulate first. Having multiple versions out ruins the "exclusivity" of have a "team" jersey.

It wouldn't get enough use. I don't even have "special" pedals w/ matching shoes  Just a little ditty bag under my seat for my keys, wallet, and smokes and I'm good to go. My local jaunts are done in civi shorts and a T, when I do a R2T ride I put on the "Bike" shorts and a T. Just because I'm not an OCP type, dosen't mean I can't represent. There's a lot of freds we could reach :roflmao:

I'll see what I can do about coming up with a design when I get back in town next week. worker4youth, thanks again for helping get the ball rolling. If there's a way to help out here or there, let me know.

Does Joe get any input? Maybe all bf merchandise should have "Joepproved" on it or someting.

Maybe wait until the weather starts to turn a bit colder here in the Northern Hemisphere.

People will be itchin' for anything jersey related come November/December. Will be a fun thing to discuss, debate, and vote.

Can't wait to see what comes up!

Not until one of us won "Le Tour".

I would like to suggest that 9 days before the poll might be too short to generate the interest or design variety needed.

I know I was onsidering the other one, then when I checked the thread I missed the cutoff so my decision was made...

I understand that setting deadlines gets things rolling, but 9 days doesn't give me enough time to consider whether I would want to get one in my current size, my anticipated size for next year's Covered Bridges ride, or my target size... and no, I won't buy all three. :D

Also, depending on the number of possible designs, I think a two stage voting proccess would work well. For example with 10 potential designs, have an initial vote. Unless there is a clear winner (> 50% of vote) then there should be a second vote with the top 2 or 3 designs. This may help increase interest and sales by a few kits. For example, if all the people who wanted the fourth place jersey would have chosen the second place jersey instead of the winner, we would in effect get wider acceptance of the winning design with a second vote by finding that more people like the original second place than the first place.

Velomancer, I like that design. Looks cool. And it sticks to the Bike Forum "feel".

I ordered the last one and wouldn't mind this one.

Good effort. For comparison, how about something more subtle? For me, your design has too much yellow/gold and too many BikeForums.net banners.

Velomancer has a good looking jersey there, don't know if we need to wait for this one :D ! I was going to get the first one, but p*ssed around and didn't get my PayPal sent in. Velomancer's design looks sharp, and sticks with the forum logo design. If worker4youth wants to set up a buy of these, I'm ready to send in my money :) ....

Stacey, if you can find a t-shirt company that will do it, and if we can meet the minimum, I say, why not? Or, you can just ask for the winning graphics and make your own t-shirt. There are a lot of places online to do this, and you can order just 1.

Grasschopper

If someone wants T-shirts there is a girl at my work who does screen printing on the side...I can have her quote it. Also if there is a T-Shirt design that will look good on Tie-dye my cousin owns a comercial tie dye company in CT I can get pricing from her as well.

I've seen three names: Microgrammer, Eurostyle and Square.... they're all roughly the same. This is the Bold, Extended version.

I agree, we should extend this out for a while. I like velomancer's design (JUST A THE "S"!! :D)

I'm going to try to mess with a design myself, but I'm no graphic artist. :o

I really like that design! (And don't worry, I won't pick on you about the absence of the "s!)

Just a thought - how would it look if the blue and yellow fields on the jersey were swapped? It might help to make the rider more visable to motorists coming up from behind. It might also be a little cooler on a sunny day if the sun is beating down on yellow rather than blue. Just a thought, but I like the jersey either way - nice job.

cuda2k

I'd like to see what HigherGround's idea looks like, but that may be a bit too close to the last jersey's color scheme (yellow with blue) in my opinion.

Good point, although if we are trying to pick each other out of a group of sometimes two or three thousand, maybe similar designs aren't all that bad? I admit, though, I hadn't really thought about that point until you mentioned it. People who didn't like the most recent design might want a bit of variety.

I think the number of BikeForums.net banners seems a bit exaggerated by seeing the garments flat. I think that in "real life" you wouldn't be able to see so many of the logos simultaneously. Unless of course, Paris Hilton was modeling them, which would effectively be the same as laying them flat on a table.
