I bought a new '05 Cervelo P3 last week and ended up having a change of heart a couple of days later. When all was said and done I just couldn't justify a dedicated tri bike considering the cost.

The original plan was to use my Giant OCR1 for the majority of training and road cycling and to use the P3 for a smaller amount of training and for duathlons and triathlons.

I ended up pulling a 180 though and decided to return the P3 and to buy a Cervelo Soloist Team to perform double duty. I do alot of road cycling and this just seemed like a better option overall since I'll get to enjoy one awesome bike for all of my riding.

Now to sell my OCR1 and I'll be all set.

I would have kept the P3. After the sticker shock wore off, you'd be left with a great purchase.

I felt the same way. SO when looking for a new bike, I decided to stay with a conventional frame instead of a tri-frame. I went with a Madone 5.2, and then set it up for a forwared riding position and tri-bars. I love it! Even though 99% of my riding is solo, triathlon-style riding, I like knowing I could switch the riding position if I wanted to.
