so my throat has swollen up and i went to the doctor because i can't stand it anymore... she told me it could either be strep or mono (yikes) she perscribed some antibiotics and said if it's strep it'll clear up in a few days and if it doesn't then it's mono and it just has to run it's course...
i read up a little on mono but i don't really fully understand it. i've obviously never gotten it before, but if it's going to be like it's been for the past 4 days then i'm shot for a good month or so off the bike, i can barely move as it is. but i've read that you shouldn't do physical activity anyway... has anyone here had any experience with mono? is it going to kill me if i feel okay and try and ride? not big miles not pushing it or anything, i just don't want to do anything that will make this crap stick around longer than it needs to.
oh and can anyone explain to me how you can get it? i know it's the "kissing disease" but i haven't kissed anyone recently who hasn't already had mono years ago (i.e. the girl i've been dating) i didn't think it was that easy to pass around?
anyway, i just don't want to get myself in worse shape than i am feeling now. thanks!
