Road Bike Racing - Last weekend of crits--Can I just crush, like, one soul???

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Well, on new guy's advice in another thread, I found another crit to race this week, and I'm headed out tomorrow for that one. Then it's the Back to School crit on Sunday, which I have high hopes for given some quality advice from flythebike (good thing I kept that PM). But now I need additional help, so I'm hoping to channel the undoped spirit of The Jan.

For I must being winng a Cat 5 race soon before I am being becoming pack fodder in the 4's, and the clock is ticking, because like the Jan, I am not being getting any younger. And because The Pete's a$$ is about the same size as the Jan's off-season a$$, RR's are not where the Pete will being getting a win. So it must happen this weekend, before the winter months, and before the spring, where if The Pete emerges from his cocoon of off-season training agony and is grinding the local 5's into dog meat, then I will being then accused of being a bagger of the sand to which I crushed the souls of the weak. So this weekend it must happen.

Just let me crush a couple souls, Der Jan... 2 crits, 2 shots, just a few souls. Let me taste the glory of standing atop the cheap splintered plywood and wave my plastic medal in the air like I just won the damn Tour de France and hear the cries of agony from those whom I made weep. Then I will go into my winter hibernation of pain happy. Is that too much to ask?

Wow, I miss that blog. :)

Wow Pete going for them both huh? Are you waitlisted for the chantilly race or are you doing something else? I think its a little too soon for me to be hitting two races in one week.

Good luck man!

I talked to the organizers of the chantilly thing, and they were anticipating enough slots open that I'll be able to race. I'm keeping the fingers crossed, but he sounded pretty sure.

Go for it. I hear a crushed soul is kinda bitter. I wouldn't know yet. What was the good advice from Flythebike?

The good advice from flythebike was course-specific. He won the race last year and told me how he did it. So I at least have one winning tactic that sounds quite doable...

For the report on day 1 of 2, check out my new thread.

Hiro, you'll want to curl up with a beer for that one... ;)
