Recumbent - I need mirrors!!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
What mirrors fit the AB Tadpole? I haven't been able to find any locally.
Here's what my bars look like.

RAD! A Green tadpole! I haven't seen any green ones before. I have that color on my Jetstream II and I love it!
Are you on the actionbent forums on yahoo? There is a thread just like this there. BUT TRY MIRRICYCLE mirrors! I think they'll work out for you.

I ordered the stock mirror for my first trike, a Wizwheelz 3.4 with the trike. As I recall it came in a box marked Blackburn. It attaches to the handlebar just below the thumbshifter. It is held in place with velcro. I don't see why this mirror would not work on your trike. You should be able to find one in any decent sized LBS.
This mirror is also available at REI. Just search "Mirror" at www.rei.com (on pg2)

I tried to fit that Blackburn mirror on my ABTT and it didn't fit very well. Performance cycles has them if you want to try one out. The bar-end style will be the most stable of them all but this requires removing the bar end shifters or using the bullhorns. I'm gonna check out the REI mirrors to see what I can find there.
So I got the mirror from REI ($4!). I like the clamp... and I like the mirror (Very domed for a wide angle view)... but the flex stem in the middle didn't impress me... Sooooo I modified it. Took a bic pen, a sharpy pen, and made a solid stem that press-fit perfectly in the mirror and the clamp. It has just enough flex to keep it from getting knocked off. The plastics that these parts are made from are semi-rigid so press-fitting the custom stem worked out perfectly.
BTW... this picture does it little justice... They redesigned the clamp to use a thumb screw and a well recessed nut.
Wow, who would have thought?? Something affordable from REI.:D

I've got a yellow one, too!:p

Stupid, don't you remember what your second grade teacher said to you? " Now stupid, if you don't have enough to share with everyone, don't bring anything at all." It just isn't fair, you have both a car and two trikes. I only have a measley bike(which I absolutely love, the seat was broken for two weeks...along with my heart...lol)
Ugh, don't remind me of broken seats....... See that car-port in the background? Well after driving all over town with the green one on the roof, I somehow managed to forget it was there and park my car in my spot........ With the trike still on the roof!! All I heard was a loud C-R-A-C-K! and my heart broke, too.;)
Ah well, no biggie.. AB had a new one in the mail to me within a week.
Some days I wish I could find someone who wanted to trade me a Bacchetta Corsa for *both* my trikes.
I like my trikes, I just never ride them.

I have two set of these mirrors installed on my trike as well as my bike.
I installed both using vinyl covered "P" clamps that allow the mirror to
'get out there' to see what's behind me. As I see it 99% of all bicycle
mirrors are way to small to be of much good. THESE do a great job!!
After looking at your photo I believe that they will mount OK
just below your hand grips to give you a great view behind.
Yes' they WILL stick out a bit but that's how you can see BEHIND
you so well.
I bought both my sets from this e-bay seller with no problems.

Steel: nearly a thousand years of metallurgical development
Aluminum: barely a hundred
Which one would you rather have under your butt at 30mph?
I'd rather have Carbon and Ti myself!
