I have an opportunity to buy a Kestrel KM40 from a friend. It is either a 2003 or 2004 edition. Kestrel only made two sizes of the the KM40... 52 and 56cm. His is a 52 and I think that would be the right size for me would take it to a local Tri shop to determine if the fit is for me.
Here is some info on the bike: http://www.kestrel-usa.com/support/docs/km40.php
and a picture of what the frame paint job looks like... I love the fade to black paint scheme.
I'm getting into Tri and want a bike for it. I've tried clip-on aerobars on my Giant OCR C2 and they are ok but I think the compact geometry with the long top tube makes it difficult to get a good position. I can get comfy but it doesn't feel powerful and for some reason, I think it lends to my feet going to sleep.
Any thoughts on the Kestrel or best way to determine if it is the bike for me would be appreciated.
