from what i can remember

white handme down with training wheels with removable top tube to change from girls bike to guys bike--no idea what happened

black and gold BMX style 20" huffy with coaster brake--no idea what happened to it

blue and white splatter huffy MTB -- destroyed it when i jumped up the curb at my parents house and the deraileur went into the rear spokes

1995 raleigh m-60 - got it as a birthday present in 8th grade this bike was the main bike i used for everything until i graduated college- just recently put track ends on it to run as a SS- I'll never get rid of this bike

2003- Iron horse warrior MTB- bought before grad school to use as a commuter do everything bike- still have it and have upgraded it to my MTB only bike

sierra road bike- given to me by my girlfriend- converted to SS- crashed and ruined the fork- my brother now has it as i built it back up with a new fork

meral fixed gear conversion- weird ass frame with french threading---first fixed-- sold still see it around town occasionally

fuji fixed gear conversion- my daily rider now

raleigh sprite fixed gear conversion- total pos built up using left over parts i had-- suicide hub mtb front wheel brakeless--good times

mongoose BMX-- bought it off craigslist for fun

schwinn frontier hybrid- in the process of turning it into a cruiser with a 3speed SA coaster brake rear hub and banana seat

thats all of them i think...

Middle and High School: a campus green Varsity. Used it a lot around town.

Grad school: some sort of road bike. Got it free from an in-law. I have no recollection what is was. Did not use it much.

Currently: I will limit this to bikes I actually use regularly:
- Nishiki International 10 speed.
-Bridgestone/Kabuki fixy with northroads and big grocery racks.
-Peugeot MTB fixy. Crappy weather bike. Please steal this one
-Raleigh Record fixy. My main road fixed gear. Might replace with the Bilenky I just got.
-Fuji Espree fixy. 53x13 gearing. Just to see what gearing like this is like. I am not man enough to use it much.
-Miyata 5000 MTB fixy. My good MTB. But I use it as a errand runner around town mostly. Cool blue chain and chainring.
-Trek 330 12 speed. Used to be my main geared road bike. Might sell or convert to fixed gear. Anyone interested? Has been displaced by...
-Handmade Bilenky Sterling. All campy. All cool. Not sure if I will leave as is and replace the Trek or go fixed and replace the Raleigh.

then:
-90s trek mountain bike

-'80s takara road bike

I haven't had as many bikes as others. I thought about it and realized that it's probably because I'm pretty short and I've always been really short - no need for too many upgrades.

1-1970 -tricycle - parents gave it to some other family
2-1971 - blue big wheel - broke it
3-1973 - a gold bike with training wheels - outgrew it and gave it to a friends little brother.
4-1975 - Purple Bike from Sears with the bannana seat (when I was about 12, stripped it down, painted it blue, added a small seat and the cool BMX padding). Bike to school from the ages of about 10 to 14 - broke it accidentally by "ghost riding" it into a brick wall on purpose and broke the fork.
5-1981 - A schwinn ten speed - parents must given it away.
6-1983 - Schwinn Unicycle - used in my short-lived career as a professional juggler. I think this one is still in my folks' garage somewhere.
7-1984 - Blue Nishiki Olympic Sport - Used to ride 9 miles each way to high school and back, until I got a car at age 18 - Gave this to a friend of mine in college.
8-1988 - Nishiki Colorado Mountain Bike - rode the hell out of this thing in college. Sold it to a friend in 1995
9-1992 - Cannondale R600 Road Bike - used to train and race triathlons. I never really rode this bike that much until I CONVERETED THIS TO FIXED GEAR IN 2007 AND I RIDE IT ALL THE TIME NOW.
10-1995 - Specialized Stumpjumper hardtail - rode the hell out of this and did a lot of races and night mtn bike riding. - Gave it to a friend in 2000.
11-2000 - Specialized Stumpjumper FSR - Still have it.
12-2004 - inherited my grampa's old 1961 Capo race bike that I have fixed up pretty good. - Ride it every now and then.
13-2006 - Specialized Roubaix - use it on club rides on Saturdays and for other long rides.

Cronologically (early dates are approximate):

1964- A blue girls hand-me-down that Dad welded a pipe on to make it a guys bike. Painted green.
1967- Full-sized Firestone Speed Cruiser/coaster brake. Dad gave it away.
1970- Sears spyder bike. Dad gave it away.
1973- World (Japanese Schwinn) Traveler ten speed. A car and I had a face-to-face confrontation at speed. Bent the frame and fork.
1989- Trek 830. After almost ten years of hard riding and up-grades—the chainstay broke.
1994- Schwinn Stingray Fastback five-speed ($40 at a yard sale—damn near new). Gets ridden on the 4th of July. I don't know why.
1998- Trek 970. The $100 up-grade replacement for the broken 830 (Trek honors their warranties). Still a very nice bike.
2006- '04 Jamis Quest NOS. Got me on the road again. A fine bicycle.
Bilenky Tourlite (on order).

This is gonna be tough. I'll try and remember.

-Trikey

-Big wheel

(blur)

-Some chrome framed X brand BMX with a 1 piece crank, red anodized everything and a coaster brake. I loved this bike. Once got my shoelace wrapped around the pedal axle and took a tumble. I couldn't get out of it because the coaster brake wouldn't let me backpedal. For a reason that I will never understand, this kid that was generally a grade A ****** helped me out. He ended up being the FedEx driver for my work and I'd occasionally wonder if he remembered how much of a dumbass I was that day.

-Some black splatter painted X brand BMX with 1 piece crank that I somehow broke the frame on. That bike must have been a piece of crap because I was a little dude at the time.

-Huffy MTB with sidepulls that I hated. The teenage metalhead neighbor guy had a killer Mongoose that he'd let me ride sometimes. He ended up being one of my soccer coaches when I was in high school. It was weird seeing him sober without a ponytail. Sellout.

-Magna MTB with cantilevers and SIS shifting. I thought I was the ****. My parents sold this one at a garage sale when I went to my one year of college. For some reason, it made me a sad panda.

-First bike that I paid for myself. I wanted a Klein, but couldn't afford it. I got some sort of Univega MTB with my minimum wage riches. I thought I was the **** again. Bright red CRMO frame with STX-RC components. I decked this guy out with anything cheap and anodized that I could get my hands on.

-Sold that when I was 17 and got a Trek 6000. Once again, I wanted a Klein, but couldn't afford it. This was right around the time they came out with the fatty tubes. I was so excited to be on aluminum, and looking back on it this thing weighed a ton. This old bird stayed in my stable for 9 years, but I finally got rid of it in the great bike purge of 2007. Went through a ton of changes and I still kind of miss it.

Moved out on my own and lived in numerous places with basements or garages. This is when things get crazy. I'll just list off what I can remember, because I probably owned at least 30 bikes in the course of 5 years.

- Univega Viva Touring SS convert
- Blue Viscount of some sort
- Cook Bros BMX cruiser. So awesome.
- Numerous Schwinns of all varieties dating from the 60's to 80's. Mostly Continentals, Racers and Le Tours, but nothing amazing.
- Tiny Miyata 910 that I turned into a 1x9 for my then girlfriend/now wife. It killed me when this got stolen.
- Beautiful Ross Professional fixed conversion.
- Trek 610 that I still own. My main conversion and one of the two bikes to survive the purge.
- A couple of Columbia cruisers.
- A barn find ancient rust bucket of a cruiser. I couldn't ever figure out who made it.
- Vintage Rockhopper. Insert Chuck Norris joke here, but in lieu of "Chuck Norris," say "Rockhopper."

I finally built myself up a pretty damned good pile of stuff I didn't need and got engaged. Suddenly I was moving to Seattle and had a valid excuse to get rid of everything. I donated everything but the Trek conversion to a local shop and packed my bags. Now I live in the NW with a wife, a dachshund, a Trek conversion, and I also picked up that Klein that I always wanted when I was a kid.

I'm sure it probably could have been. It was destroyed when I garbage picked it, and it was only slightly less destroyed when I donated it.

-1996 Masi Gran Corsa (still have...my most favorite bike of all time)

That sucks about tall bike getting nicked. I hope it turns up.

Ok...let's see...

First bikes as a kid were all generic from Sears or some **** because my mom was hecka poor:
-Crappy BMX bike.
-Another crappy BMX.
-Crappy CRAPPY "road bike".
*ditched bikes completely for skateboards until 15 years old.
-Trek 820 Antelope.
-Really heinous old Mantis XC bike but it had the full Campy MTB group which was wild!
-Salsa Ala Carte with XT group.
-Flat black cruiser bar bike with ape hangers with pink grips and bmx pegs for picking up the ladies. Got stolen from my garage during some party we had.
-Bridgestone RB-1 with mostly 105.
-Old Raleigh looking frame/fork from dumpster, my first fixie conversion.
-Really old Bianchi with integrated headset from dumpster, that was second fixie conversion.
-Salsa single speed mountain bike (one of the first five made) with some pretty sick components.
-Peugeot frame/fork that I got from a roomate and was my third conversion.

Current and only bike!
-Detel (???), crappy, old, heavy, lugged frame with hella dents and chips and it's my best conversion yet. Super fast. Super fun.

edit: Oops, forgot one. About 11 years ago I acquired a ReDUMBant which I promptly sold. I did ride it around for a few days though just to see what it was all about.

red and white tricycle.
huffy bmx. solid rubber tires.
murray mountain bike. 10 speed, but the shifters never worked. ever.
another murray mountain bike. found in a ditch. used parts of both murrays to keep one working bike for a long time.
unknown gaspipe mountain bike. built up by me as a singlespeed with parts from:
trek 830 mountain bike with bent to **** frame.
suteki 10 spd road bike. way too small.gaspipe.
schwinn traveler? lugged ladies frame.
schwinn varsity. converted to single speed.
it gets tricky around this time, because i started acquiring so many bikes, both for parts, to sell, give away, or use for art projects. so lets ignore the ones for sale, sold, gifted, being built, and piled in my backyard, maybe i'll just list the ones i ride often enough?
nishiki citysport. 26" wheels, upright bars, 5spd grocery/cargo bike
gitane kilo track.
trek 510 usually single speed/occasionally fixed/occasionally 10spd....this is the bike i use everyday. its the bike i tour on, and the bike i get around town with. it is one of my best friends.
tall bike, made from 2 schwinn road bikes.pink.
if anyone has a higher end, early 80's trek road frame, 57cm, i would like it to be my next...

little red learner bike....once the training wheels came off, I had to have stitches in my chin twice trying to wheelie off of a crack in the sidewalk

1972 20" Schwinn Sting ray... i don't remember the details, but presumed stolen.
1977 27" Murray 10spd... dunno, presumed stolen
1972 Schwinn Pea Picker...still got it. Needs full restoration

'78-'81 i raced BMX for a shop and rode various frames, Redline, GT, SE Racing..and ended up with...
1980 Raleigh Racing...stolen...I had discovered girls, beer and cars by then, so it wasn't really missed...til now..it was a sweet ride.

First bike as an adult..
1992 GT timberline...stolen...D@mn, I only ran in the store for minute...
Next..
1994 Cannondale M500..sold later to finance
1995 Cadex Carbon Tubed MTB..Marzochi (sp?) LX/XT..Stolen...somene jacked my ulock at a 311/hole show..but the next day i bought
1996 Cadex Carbon main tubed/ al rear triangle. a step down from the last but I was riding. this was stolen out of my girlfriends kitchen, during the day, while we were in the other room. damn..At least her renters insurance covered it. Full boat too, I was working in a shop and had tricked it out for next to nothing, and replacement value was 2600 after depreciation. I took some of that and bought (at pro-deal shop costs) a..
1997 Specialized Stumpjumper Pro... Still have it as my only MTB, the only original parts left are the frame, seatpost, and stem. but i am starting to feel old enough to justify the full boinger purchase to be.

I was given a 198? Benotto Modelo 2550..columbus sl..had 600 and tubies on it, but had been in a barn on teh property for 15 years. it got converted to my first ss/fg, still have it.

I bought a 2001 breezer venturi frameset from a friend who had tried to open a bike shop...unsuccessfully..and had it boxed in his garage. I still haven't seen another one. It rides like dream.

1948 schwinn phantom... it was my uncle's, and had been under my grandparents house for 40 years, needs work, but it will ride again.

198? GT MTB...it was abandoned after Katrina, and is stripped to be painted and built up as an 8sd grocery getter

2007 IRO group buy FG

Next up:
touring rig, most likely a surly Long Haul Trucker...before Memorial day
Full suspension MTB..I'm about to turn 40, can i give up my al hardtail now?
Ti or Carbon roadie.. no need, just an itch.

Kids bike I can't remember the name of
Some hideous looking huffy thing that looked like it was from space
Dino BMX(I think, my brother and I shared it)
Giant Rincon
Specalized Stumpjumber(in the process of converting to ss)
Azuki 10-speed road bike from like 78 or something(used to belong to an aunt or uncle or something)
IRO Mark V

I only really got seriously into biking like a year and a half ago after all my friends were riding in college, so I went 4 years without really riding(except when i lost my driver's license for a few months after an accident when I was 16)

Some fixed-gear thing (said NO BRAKES on it!)
Junker 16" BMX thing w/ coaster brake
Huffy BMX w/ coaster brake
24" X-Games Airstrike 16-spd, full suspension
26" Schwinn Full-Suspension (the first Wal-mart bike with a mullet disk brake setup I'd ever seen), front wheel catastrophically tacoed in 2 hours, brought it back for refund.
POS Rigid 10-spd 26" MTB, 5-spd after the FD ate itself
Columbia Trailhead Disk (my brother rides that now and gets my trickle-down upgrades)

-----And now the serious bikes begin-----

Iron Horse Warrior Team SE (now a 21-lb race machine)
Jamis Coda Comp (converted from flatbars to a rather long top tube CX/touring/commuter)
Gary Fisher Opie dirt jumper (won at after-prom last year, drivetrain, cockpit and brakes were upraded within 24 hours)
SE Lager (was planning on doing a conversion, got a bunch of parts, couldn't find a decent frame, got a killer deal on a complete bike and slapped parts on during the build)

Geez. That's a ton considering I'm still 17 (but for less than a month now!)
