I've been doin a lot of down hill riding around trails in my area, and I have wanted to start riding the dirt jump tracks. I have been watchin lots of videos and I have yet to see someone tear up a dirt jump track with a full suspension. Is it possible, even if i drop my back shock down to 1.5 inches of give?

Its possible but dirt juming is best on a compact hardtail(P. series,Kona Cowan,ect) The movement of the rear takes a lot of your momentum away. Of course I've seen guys that could DJ anything.
I have done a bit of Dj on my kona dwag and its seems okay. I'm not a pro or anything but you can definately do it.

i think you should set your rebound a bit slower because if its too high it can launch you off a steep lip and cause you to nose dive its happened to me twice its pretty violent when it happens. this is my opinion though

Go for it. There's nothing wrong with DJ and a full suspension bike.

You can DJ on anything. I know people who have done it on RMX's. And another bike that was even larger, pulled of a back flip. Now has a small time deal with Red Bull.

You make it sound easy.. Trust Im working on building some DJ's in my backyard and its not exactly easy when you dont have any good dirt around. I know that sounds stupid but all the dirt in the ground here is just sandy and rocky, and it just doesnt pack together.

Dirt jumping on a full suspension is possile that is what I am doing with my stinky and I am allright.
and for the "make some jumps" comments , it 's realy difficult to make jumps in the place I live ... the little kids kinda dig holes in them to make themself little one foot high jumps.
The purists really like their hardtails, especially if they came from a BMX background. I happen to like DJing with my FS, if for no other reason than I know I won't get bucked (and slammed mercilessly to the ground) if I clip the top of a tranny.

there was a guy hitting some big dj's on a spec. demo something or other, so it's not impossible
