another thread that wouldn't exist if the search function was working.

i recall that the fork race is a strange size, does anyone know what it measures?

does anyone know which distributor bike works orders this thing from?

i can't remember what it measures, but it's certainly a bit large. i had to trim it down a decent bit to get the race from my ultegra headset on there, but it went.

that probably wasn't very helpful. sorry.

If it's a 1" fork, then it's probably 27.0 instead of the standard 26.4. See Sheldon's headset cribsheet.

I had mine shaved down too. It was $5 at my LBS and took the guy 2 min. Don't let it stop you from getting the fork.

Totally agree, even if you shave it down yourself, it is a great fork for the $$$ and a little hard work or trip to the LBS never killed anyone.

yeah, it's probably the JIS (slightly larger) size rather than the ISO (standard).

The guy at my shop told me that most new forks needed to be shaved down. I'm assuming this was back in the days of steel forks and not new forks. Seriously, I've had this fork for 2 years now. Been great.

The forks come with extra material on the crown race so they can be milled down to any size needed.

I've owned 2 over the years and love them.

trip to the LBS never killed anyone.

...Unless your LBS is Trackstar and you're a short hispanic man on an ill-fitting bike...
