Hey folks,

I've had a lot of success with the 26-inch Specialized Armadillos on my MTB but I can't seem to find anything comparable for a 16-inch tire. I'm pulling a BOB Ibex trailer through the Canyonlands and would really like to find a tire that is as tough as the Armadillo.

Any suggestions? I've googled my rear off and am having a hard time coming up with an answer.

Wow, I'm stumped on this one.

You might want to try the touring or the commuter forums. A lot of those guys use trailers. I'm guessing that you're probably going to be stuck using tube liners or slime your tubes to get anything effective.

You tried with the BOB folks themselves?

Thanks for the quick replies! After hitting a couple of bike shops I was told to go ahead and just do the Mr. Tuffy and Slime. Apparently Kevlar-reinforced tires in the 16" size are pretty hard to find.

Panaracer Flataway strips. Adhesive backed Kevlar felt you cut to size. Ten quid a tyre for 26", so I should imagine you could get almost two tyres out of one strip....

Thorn resistant tube + Mr. Tuffy + Slime = No flats (hopefully) and an extra 3 pounds :D
