Ive ridden both bikes and I like both, so Im kinda at a loss and cant decide, what would you get? Seems the warranty is a bit better on the Trek as it has crash replacement discounts. I also really like the color on the Trek. Have you owned or ridden either of these bikes?

i have the trek Madone 5.5, and the ride is superbe as well as the agility and tracking. The biggest misnomer is that you are riding A Trek, and everyone has one.
actually both bikes are oustanding rides and both companies have been around for ages.
Either one you can not go wrong.. pick the one that fits and feels the best and seems more responsive to rider input and your personal needs

I just got the Madone 5.2 Team blue and love it. I haven't been riding road very long, but not only does it ride good, it looks flippin sweet. Trek carbon fiber is the best you can get too.

What size? Size for size, doesn't the the Madone have a shorter wheelbase (chainstay length) and sharper frame angles? If so, it would be more road-race whereas the Spec. would be more road-tour.
In the Trek line, the Pilot probably is closer to the Robaix. The Pilot has a normal size headtube length compared to the Robaix. Aside from that, however, but both have down-sloping top tubes, a slacker seat tube angle, a similar wheelbase, and more likely to come with a triple and 25c instead of 23c tires.

I'm not ready to buy me next bike yet, but I had a long look (drooling..) at the
Pilot 5.2 yesterday at the Bike shop... Whoa... I fell in love...
This would sure beat the heck out of my old 80's road bike, LOL
