Fifty Plus (50+) - Anyone here but I think that Karen Burt is Sexy?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Consider that she could be "daughter" to many of us. Now, if she has an older sister, well, aunt.....perhaps grandmother? Best for most of us to stick to pie. I find that, as other systems seem to deflate with age, my appetite (for food) maintains quite vigorously.
That just looks downright painful.

Now, I'm not one of those arch conservative types who thinks that people never change, and therefore emminantly predictable. But having said that, I'm imagining velonomad moving upstair from Karen Burt's studio, signing up for every class she teaches a week, and nearly killing himself trying to impress her!!!

Gotta' concur here with 'Chain, especially about grandmothers who [I'm here to attest] need kind attention too. Give her 20 years and a few more life's lessons and I'll re-consider. 'Til then a gal like that triggers my fatherly instincts.
Lest this noble gathering doubt my standing in the Testosterone Hall of Fame, I'll remind you that the Crack of Dawn has to watch her step here at Hascienda Coyote most mornings. Old 'Dawn has enough years and experience to get my attention.
Pie ain't bad either.
Iyyyeeeeee-Yip-Yip!!!

emminantly predictable? guilty as charged!
She is teaching a class at Oxford and my son is headed to Oxford next year. I am sure my son needs help getting moved in to Oxford........ Of course one look at me and she would probaly have a stroke from laughter.

The oldest I've ever felt in my life was after watching a Cirque du Soleil performance. I used to be able to do those things - and now I can't anymore!

I don't read Cycling Plus. But after seeing the ads for Discovery Channel's Daily Planet during OLN's Tour coverage, I have become a secret admirer of Natasha Stilwell...

She has a sort of geek attraction, and sometimes whoever does her hair really screws up, and her voice can often be loud and somewhat grating, but I love her Edinburgh accent and I think she's HOT!

Maybe velonomad JR will bring Ms Burt home from his academic studies for Thanksgiving dinnner.

I've got only one working hormone left and I'm hanging onto that puppy TIGHTLY, thanks! :p When we lose appreciation of gender, we've truly got "one foot in the grave." If you want to see a classic on the comedic pathos of male ageing, rent the movie "Bubba Ho-Tep." It's weird, but sometimes wonderful.

I prefer a woman closer to my age. Lynne Russell used to be an anchor on CNN Headline News, then retired about 5 years ago. She is now living in Toronto and doing part-time news on CBC Newsworld. She is late 50's and the sexiest woman on TV. Eat your heart out, Atlanta, we have her now.

If you lose that hormone and need to make another hormone, just refuse to pay her.

Yup. . .can we add another mature news woman, Susan Spencer? [http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/1998/08/01/48hours/main15205.shtml] She prolly hates cyclists.

I somehow recall a posted picture from PastorBob at least a year ago...a beaming Bob and his wife were standing next to a peanut butter cake (or close to it) that she had made for his birthday. I also recall Will Dehne mentionng his wife's brandy cake (or close to it), not to mention Seafoam's peach pie. Those sorts of impressions seem to stick to my ribs the older I get. My taste for saucy tarts has waned.
Never got off on "Irma" of pie fame....I hear she's hairy-armed, smokes cigars, and, besides that, is male in real life.

I find that if a woman is fit and happy they are usually pretty attractive as well. It's the unhappy one's that are overweight in the 100's that have lost most of their attractiveness.
Nothing made more unattractive women than the "feminist movement" which seemed to say that all the ills and depression women have are solely because of men. Unhappy women mean unhappy men and men are naturally happy people so we go to where the happiness level is higher. Like, Cheers.

To expand on cyclintom just above, women or men who are not emotionally complete are less attractive to emotionally complete others. Someone who is emotionally unstable, chronically unhappy, a "victim", unable to embrace themselves or life is generally not as attractive as someone better founded. Almost a cliche to say emotional health attracts emotional health.

.........and here I thought it was so I'd have more kinds to sample. So far, I prefer those with soft centers. Don't care much for the brittle ones. :o
I am always amazed at the male ego. We seem to have no problem evaluating the relative attractiveness of women in public. For my part, I shall not participate in any discussion that may demean these incredibly attractive people, because I really, really like women.

I think there is a male "schtick" some of us slip into when hangin' with the boys. A burping, scratching, 12year old mentality which involves playfully indulging in some almost cartoon-like, stereotypical notions about women. I admire those who have no taste for such regression. For many men (sadly not all), it's fun until wives or girlfriends call us in to dinner or, figuratively speaking, come out and drag us by the ear back home to mature norms of behavior.
Like you, NOS, I can't imagine being marooned for a lifetime in such a state of mind....women are too curvaceously interesting, stimulating, attractive, and comforting. Some of us are probably more "at home", more ourselves, in their company.
[My girlfriend, standing behind me with a pedal wrench, made me write this...but I honestly do believe it.]
