Johan is certainly THE man.

In addition to his great wins, I have always been impressed that he will tirelessly ride as the good teammate when he has guys up the road. He has certainly sacrificed chances in Paris-Roubaix when his Mapei boys got up the road and he stayed back and ruined the chances of the chase group.

Yes, I know that that is what he is supposed to do... but there are an awful lot of riders that don't do it (years of Italian failure in the Worlds, for example).

I disagree in that other thread about Bettini being a "wannabe" but I will agree that Johan is often in a class unto himself. As for Boonen and VDB, stars may be too big of a word, but they certainly are among the elite when they go well, as this race shows.

So how many more big wins for Johan? :confused:

I know, easyrider, the Bettini thing is a personal thing .I don't realy like the man and his style. And I sure do prefer Musseeuw's resume . And Boonen, he should be able to make it on his own soon. His P-B performance is almost a year old. Great ones don't need a lifetime learning. I sure hope Musseeuw makes a great last season . I do believe he'll retire next year. The man is 38. (or is it 39 years old) .
