Touring - Welcome back all summer tour riders!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

It's nice to hear that you had a good cycling summer. I also had success with my own tour. In June I did my first solo ride from Switzerland to Sweden. It took four weeks and I had the best time of my life. I'm looking forward to reading travelogues and seeing photos from other cyclists. I've posted my own travelogue (http://blog.schwiiz.org/2006/07/bike-tour-2006.html) of the trip, some photos (http://photos.burntlands.org/index.php?folder=/2006/200606-BikeTour/) and a Google bike map (http://www.schwiiz.org/bikemap/). I'm now looking forward to some shorter tours in the fall. Cheers, chris

Three months for me, too! Still can't believe it. Just the regular old trans-am, but what an amazing experience. Journal here: http://www.crazyguyonabike.com/doc/circumtrektion

Ha. Every now and then I look at the crazyguy site and just about everytime I ended up looking at your journal. Nice job.

Congrats to all that toured over the summer. Post more links. I can't get enough of them. :) My turn is coming...summer 2007. Can't wait. :D

Thanks! I'm still adding text. It was tough to keep updated from the road. Try this one if you want some really well-written reflections on episodes encountered by one European along the Trans Am: http://www.lesontheroad.blogspot.com/
