Never mind snakes on planes. A friend just got back from Europe and told me you can't bring anything on a plane anymore that might be a liquid or a gel.

He told me thatfrom Gatwick all you could have was a passport. Not even water or duty free liquor.

How does this affect those who tour using planes?

Anyone?

Gel tape? Gel saddles? Energy gels? Gel gloves? Only the enemy rides a bike.

Old news. The prohibition is for carry-on luggage, not checked bags. It shouldn't affect bicycle tourists so long as they check all their luggage.

Definitely old news. And the regulations have lightened up since. What you are talking about was only for hand baggage and only in the immediate aftermath of the latest disrupted terror plot.

I thought this was going to be a pipe bomb thread - fill the tubes with explosives wired to the handlebar computer or a target altitude for your GPS.
