Hi all,

I just bought a Vitesse D5 and I'm pretty happy with this bike. However, when I fold the bike with the front light attached on the handle bar, the light gets in the way and the bike doesn't fold completely. If I put the light right next to the gear shifter, it's barely out of the way but it's not ideal.

Did someone figure out how to mount a decent front light, more or less permanently?

Same problem on my bike. Just took off the reflector and put a dynamo light above the wheel. No problem there. On the handlebar left a clip for an additional BLT ultra bright LED light, but have to take that off each time.

Actually the problem is not just the front light; I also need to attach a bell but there is no space on the handle bar that doesn't interfere with folding! The bells I found are bigger (fatter) than a light that uses 2 AA's, so I don't know if they can be left on when folding the bike.

The idea of replacing the front reflector with a light is something I thought about but I don't find any battery-operated LED light that mounts there. Everything I found seem to be designed to mount on the handle bar...

The light on my Boardwalk D7 is mounted on the post just under the handlebar. I have to turn the light to the side of the post (as opposed to the front) when I fold it, but otherewise it works fine. I also have a small bell on the handlebar that hasn't caused any problems with the fold.

This one (http://www.peterwhitecycles.com/b&m.asp)is kind of expensive but it's a pretty nice LED light. If you scroll down you will see a fork crown mount that is available for it.

I put a Planet Bike BLT on my Dahon P8 and I don't have any problem folding it. I have not put a bell on it, but I did see some very small bells that would not have given me any problem.
