Does anyone have any suggestions for day rides in/around Quebec? I am going for a road trip from around sept 8-18. I'll be starting the trip driving from philly to montreal and spending the weekend there. I am thinking of hitting up Parc National de la Gaspesie also. Looking for any recommendations of good park areas to do day rides and then hopefully be able to either camp or sleep in my car. Thanks!

I'll be around Ottawa the weekend of the 9-10.. there's an alleycat that Saturday. Probably not close enough to where you'll be (~2 hours from MTL). That's all I can suggest.. :)

If you want countryside riding, than go to chelsea in the Parc de la Gatineau (10 minutes from Ottawa, 2 hours from Mtl). If your in Montreal, you have to fight with crazy drivers and swirve around tons of hippies on crappy recycled mountain bikes.

Anyways, I've never been to Gaspésie, but its supposed to be really nice. I recently went to Baie-st-paul (on the other side of the Fleuve St-Laurent) and saw tons of roadies attacking crazy hills. The scenery is breathtaking and the people are friendly.

Oh yeah, and try to learn a few french words, like oui, non, merci, bonjour, etc. We really like it when people atleast try to communicate in our langage, even if its with a crazy accent.

Good luck!

Mauricie Park Loop - Start in Shawinigan, go counterclockwise.

Or stay in the US for the best road riding in the Northeast.
