Day 6 restday 0km

It was so beautiful in Lake Tekapo, i stayed in YHA hostel with one of the best views across the Lake.
Did some walking to Mt. John obsevatory, good to stretch my legs again, the obsevatory is placed because of the clear sky and the most sunny days of NZ.
If anyone goes to NZ, be sure you pay a visit to LT (no i`m not working in the tourist bizniz :D )

Day 7 Lake Tekapo to Mt. Cook 110 km

Excellent weather, started again at 800 and had quit a good start with 26 km/h for a long time.
The ride to Mt.Cook was hot but as i entered the valley, it was worth it, a scenic lookout at Mt. Cook
Set up my tent at the campground, with a nice sunny evening ahead..

cheers

Oh God, how are we supposed to spend 5 months reading about such great riding? I am very envious right now. But I still wish you a wonderful time.

Now that you have been at this about a week, how do you feel about your "packing list". Is there anything you left out or maybe something that it turns out you didn't need ?

How is the camping gear working out ?

regards
Dan

Mmm, hope my writing improves after 5 months!!!:D

Dan here`s my list of things i`m not happy with;

my tent: its leaking
my bottom Bracket: its moving vertically
my rain jacket: its leaking,

but besides that everything is fine, i try to sent home my pollypro gloves, a cotton shirt and some books, the rest stayes.

I treated my jacket with waterrepellent spray, hope it stays good for a while, can you imagine a 400 dollar jacket and its leaking.

Now i only have to find a decent BB somewhere on road.....

cheers

That is the most awesome area in New Zealand... Dang it's where I lived nearly half my life...(notice I never said it's where I grew up).
The scenery is stunning and usually the weather is great (well in the summer/autumn anyhow.:D
