so, some jerkface did this to my frame (ostensibly, some jerkface wearing a fedex uniform):

to point out the obvious: i can't get an axle in there.

Questions:
1. This is some beefy stuff. Will hot-setting it back to shape sacrifice strength? (Is bending it back a good or bad idea?)
2. The people that shipped the frame to me want their "in-house" person to do the frame repair. Trust them, or demand that they pay the original builder to do the fix?
3. There's a dent, small but definitely there, at the end. Should I demand they pay to replace the dropout entirely instead of bending?
4. Honestly, what kind of run-in with the frame could cause this? Seems to me that probably took quite a bit of force... and the box the frame was shipped in is still intact.

I appreciate your experienced opinion...

- looks like the seller/sender dropped the frame... you say the box is 'intact'...

- if so, you should get the fix for free whatever method is used...

You can most likely cold-set the frame back into alignment. I'd look for a framebuilder in your area so you can get a quote to submit to FedEx.

Good luck.

straighten with a tough ring spanner and then check the alignment. Unless it's really nice...the paint job implies this...
