Just wondering how bad is it for the derailers to be shifted on the shifting pods but the chain still left on the previous setting? The reason I ask is because I have a littlw kid around the house who plays with evrything and a few times now I found my shifters shifted and the chain still on the same ring. (NO pedaling)

It shouldn't be a problem as long as you don't run outside with your bike, hop on and stomp the pedals. Pick-up your bike by the seatpost and pedal a revolution or two.

It doesn't stretch out the cables or anything?

Only if the cables are new! Once cables get streched during their initial break-in period, they usually don't stretch any further. The worst thing that could happen is your lil bro could pull the cable thru the retaining clamp. However, that should take a fair amount of strength, which I doubt your bro possesses!

Nothing to worry about. Pick it up by the seat and pedal with your hand to get in right gear before jumping on it and mashing the pedals.
