None of that makes sense, until you put the word presta in there somewhere. "I just had to have my rims drilled for schrader because nobody makes presta tubes big enough for my 24X3.0 tire" You dont need a huge tube for a 3" tire anyway, you could have just used a regular presta tube...

i already tried it but it doesnt fell as good of a ride (for me) without the right size tubes in

If your LBS cannot find a Presta tube to fit your bike, then go to your local wheelchair store. I work in one myself. We carry Presta tubes in your size all the time.

What sort of grommet would one need to fit a presta tube into a rim sized for shrader?

Bike shops sell them. I've seen two kinds. One is a small aluminum sleeve. I have some of these on my single speed. The other type is a little rubber washer.
I'm told that you can use a presta tube in a schraeder-drilled rim without any kind of adapter and run no real risk to the tube. I don't have any personal experience with this though.
Oh, and I too found the original title to this thread offensive.

I have been running some presta tubes in schrader rims without apparent problems though not by choice. I had my LBS get me some of the aluminum bushings (which I have used before on another bike), but these old rims are not double wall so the bushings are too long. I just haven't asked them to get me some rubber ones. As I said, no apparent problems, but I can't help but think it's not a good idea to have that stem unsupported like that.
