Is anyone planning on riding Conquer the Coast in Corpus Christi, TX at the end of September? I'll be doing the 65-mile route.

I'm doing the 65-miler. Have done it every year, as it is one of the best rides in the state, IMHO. I know a few other BF lurkers are riding it as well. Should be a huge turnout, most of the jerseys have already sold out.

I'll see you all there tomorrow. Good luck.

Damn, I didn't see your replies until I got back today (Sunday). I had a great time, though the TT was a little rough with all that wind. I was one of the people in the Cheniere jersies. Hope everyone who went had a good ride. Maybe next year we can have a BF meet before the start.
Yeah, the 18 mile portion there is always tough. The wind, the heat, that crappy pavement. By the time you get to that rest stop right before the causeway, you're just beaten down. For some reason, this year seemed much harder to me than the previous ones. Not sure if I just didn't fuel properly or just wasn't as in shape (probably this is the reason, I haven't ridden nearly as much as I normally do). I saw a lot more people cramping and having flats this time too. Heard a rumor at the finish line that someone got hit by a car, but never heard anything else about it, have you?
And is anyone doing the Goliad ride in a few weeks?

i didn't see anyone get hit by a car, but someone ran into the back of a cement truck. right at the beginning of the TT the truck was one the shoulder of the road washing out his cement pouring device in the back of the truck. the road was wet. a group riding by didn't vocally alert "truck" or "car up" or the guy wasn't paying attenting and wasn't watching out and ran into the back of it and was knocked out and bleeding when i passed him. i heard him hit, but didn't see it.

Can anyone give me some help reading the results for the time trial?

First, I can't figure out what the numbers are to the left of the Age Group column. They appear to be the rank within that age group, but this doesn't hold true, as people who placed higher overall got lower age group placings than people in their same age group (see #4 and #5 overall). Secondly, the time and pace columns don't make sense either, since I couldn't have gone 18(-ish) miles in 1:23:17 with a 17MPH pace (I was #65 overall).
Obviously I've got something wrong here :)
Man, that is all kinds of screwed up. The only thing I can say for certain is that it seems to have ranked them based on avg. speed, and I don't even understand how they calculated that.
Take the #1 male for example. Says it took roughly an hour and 4 mins to go the 18 miles. By my math, that would be roughly 18 mph then, yet they say he averaged 23.2 mph. The #2 male did it in 55:25. In other words, he did it in *under an hour* (i.e., FASTER than #1 guy who took just over an hour), yet his avg speed is lower. WTF?
