if anything your seat might slowly slip down and you might be doing some damage to the frame from having to over tighten the seat post binder bolt thingy mah whutzit.

you could just get a shim for it, they are like 5 bucks.

i was thinking about that. thanks guys. i figured that. i was just being ultra lazy.
get a shim if the post is too small for the frame it can also bend your seat tube because of it moving around in there

so i went it just got the new seat post. i didn't fit at all, i oiled it and worked it in for about 20 mins, then i worked the post out for 45 mins. i hope i didn't **** up my bike. i went to sheldon's web site and he said to try to spread open the tube a bit, tried that, it's going in a whole hell of a lot easier now.
the clamping area was probably just still bent in to the 26.8 spot. I doubt you damaged the frame.

don't do it. just cuz you can doesn't mean you should.
i have owned two 3rensho frames that people did just that with. it collapses the seat tube over time and you'll never again be able to run a 27.2. that and it'll make the seattube more oval, depending on the clamp.

the voice of reason (above). bush mechanics is fraught with peril.
how hard is it to get a 27.2? Its THE most common post going.
