i don't know what your mechanical capabilities are, but you might have more fun and learn a lot if you built your own bike from parts bought locally or on eBay. It would be a lot more fun and you would really get to know your bike. Buying something like this, well, you know, it lacks a little personality, a little character, which is not to say it's not a good bike, but something more original might be more fun. Or not.

My experience with NYCBikes has been all good. They helped me build my first conversion which turned out great and my buddy bought one of their cityfixed bikes and loves it, the guys in the shop are cool and the service after the sale has been good. I think they have some kind of warehouse sale coming up too, although I'm not sure if the cityfixed is going to part of it, its on their website. Good luck with however you choose to roll. you get the maximum benefits of that bike by riding it without a saddle.

$800 seems like a lot of money for that bike.

the search is unavailable, but if you could read people's accounts of their nyc bikes experiences, you would not be encouraged to shop there.

+1 on the IRO.

Their completes seem overpriced. I built one up last feb and its a fun ride, just don't try to ride it upside-down on the Basque block. I'll be healing for a while.
