Hello All,

I ride a Gunnar crosshairs off road pretty aggressively and consequently this past weekend I tacoed my front wheel
:( . It was a Sun CR18 rim laced w/ DT 14g spokes 4x to an Ultegra hub. My question is what is a solid 700c rim that can take some abuse? Any ideas would be well appreciated.

Thanks.

I've had few problems with my Open Pro/Ultegra combo - and I've raced and ridden them pretty aggressively. Neither am I a light guy, 170-80.

Try the Mavic CXP-33 rim. It is an aero profile rim but it makes the rim really strong. Stronger than the open pro.

Thanks! I had thought about the open pro but the price/chance of me breaking another one ratio held me back. The aero reccomandation sounds pretty good, any good pics other than mavic? I manage the local on campus bike shop and we only get Seattle Bike Supply and J +B, niether of which carry mavic.

Thanks for all the info.
