I recall hearing about a place where people could list their homes if they were willing to host bicycle tourers traveling through - offer a backyard to camp in, a hot shower, etc. Does anyone know about this? Is there a website?

I live about 10 blocks off the pacific coast bike route, and have a big (sandy) backyard.

What city do you live in? My son and I just finnished riding the coast. It would have been nice to had a few places to stay.

alright so... so far I've picked www.couchsurfing.com (http://www.couchsurfing.com) and www.warmshowers.org (http://www.warmshowers.org) and www.HIUSA.org (http://www.HIUSA.org) (hostels) off this forum. are there anymore that people know about??? is there a list of all the hostels in the usa anywhere on the vast web??? These are wonderful for shoe-string travelers such as myself. thanks!

Some people list warmshowers on the crazyguyonabike site and have nothing but good things to say about it. Theres also a hostel list there too if Im not mistaken. Adventure cycling also has camp ground lists.
