Hi crew.

I got some questions about rims and i am thinking to upgrade them. So i got mavic X139 rims laced with 15g spokes on my specialized hard tail. So far they are not broken , the rear is slightly out of true. I am considering getting either F219 or X317 rims (disc). I like the 317 a lot but i am wondering if it will hold me well doing aggresive XC and weighting 200lbs. So far i got no problems with the X139 which i presume is more fragile than the X317. Also i am wondering how much do X139 rims weight and also of their profile-width dimensions. I would also like to know of the profile-width dimensions of the X317 and F219 rims. I presume that with the X317 i ll get lots of acceleration.

Thats all
thanks for the forthcoming answers.
Yannis.

Here's some info from the Mavic website:

The F219:219 (http://www.mavic.com/servlet/srt/mavic/cros-prod_fiche?produitsid=62&lg=uk)

and the X317:317 (http://www.mavic.com/servlet/srt/mavic/comp-prod_fiche?produitsid=61&lg=uk)

BTW, I had a pair of F519's and a pair of x317's. I used my F519's as my all around wheelset and used the X317 for my "race only" wheels. I abused the F519's and they held up great. I only used the 317's a couple of times and they remained true.

I'm also 225+ lbs!

A2psyklnut is the 317 a better rim than the X139 that i have? I read the mavic site earlier plus the reviews at mtbr.com and bikemagic.com but still no clues.

I ride XC on a pair of X317s laced to XT hubs and they are holding up well on my Scapin hardtail. I am also a 200 pounder.

The 317s will probably be better. Mavic makes sweet rims.

I gotta put my two one-hundredths of a dollar in-check out www.sunringle.com. They've got a pretty good variety of purpose-specific rims and they're great guys to work with. Great customer serivce. It's all the guys at our shop ride and we've never had a problem.
