Hey everyone,
Sorry about the confusion in my original post. I made it a bit more clearer.
Also, if you work near downtown LA, I live very close, so when the jerseys are in, you can come pick them up at my house as well.
I also work in Miracle Mile, and you can pick them up there too. Also, if you are very close (5 mile radius) of my home or work, I can deliver for free too.
Also, I think some people are having monetary issues and can't afford to pay $6 for jerseys for Joe and James. I think James and Joe will be completely OK with that, so just pay without $6 if you can't pay it.

James also was thinking about getting the sample jerseys still. As soon as we put in the deposit, I think we can get them for free, and they won't charge us, as long as they are returned. You don't have to specify your size right now (just an approximation, for now is fine)...the order needs to be finalized when we approve the proof, and send it back to them, which won't happen for at least 2-3 weeks.
Since most people seem to live in OC, I am thinking about sending the jerseys down there...anyone in particular? James? Voltman? Brandy?

Hi,
In all seriousness, I was thinking about distributing some of the tasks required for getting these jerseys. Having been involved with jersey "acquisition" with several clubs, I know it's a pain and generally thankless.
I can volunteer to receive the jerseys from the manufacturer. Distribute said jerseys and collect and ship any product elligible for return. I am not in a position to work with the manufacturer on the collecting money and ordering side of things.
So if it is of some help to be the shipping and distribution location, I'm up for it. :)
Edit: Sorry, but I changed my order to match my original vote (#3). Sounds like the #2 group will be having some fun at the distribution "party."

Being lazy and generally fat (as mentioned earlier) I am probably not a reliable source for distributing work - but I'm all about paying for James' jersey for doing the work, so put me down for covering the cost of that, should there be some shortage.

I went with a medium. Hope it fits! The large would be way too big. :-/
Out of curiosity, how are we doing on the quantity? Are we comfortably above the minimum order after any cancellations that might have taken place because some people might have decided they'd rather jersey #3?

Well...with you, me, mateo, and misterdna there's 7...add in Cali, Brandy, & Tiff...that brings it to at least 10 and probably more with Cali's multiples. So there's the order minimum without even considering Extort, Fixer, Voltman, and the rest of this very cool group.
Just a guess...I'll bet we're at 22-25.
Good point. Yay... I'll be getting two cool jerseys. :D

worker...I e-mailed the company today and asked for a ballpark number on shipping. They said it typically runs about 4% of the order which would come out to $1.80 per jersey. Has your experience been different? I don't think an additional 80 cents is going to change anyone's minds...just trying to sort it out.
Thanks.

Hmm, I guess that would make sense for smaller orders, and they go progressively down as the orders get larger.
Can it really be $36 to ship 20 jerseys? Are they really that heavy? $1.80 it is then, I guess. We can always reimburse later on if it's smaller.

Well, I just received samples in the mail today from Champion. To my surprise, they did give me various sizes (the most common) in each. So, anyway, I have:
Men's Race Cut S/S Jerseys (S-XL)
Men's Club Cut S/S Jerseys (S-XL)
Women's S/S Jerseys (S-XL)
Men's Bib Shorts (S-XL)
Women's Shorts (S-L)
Overall, the shorts and jerseys seem to be good quality.
Jerseys: Fabric seems soft/comfortable and is "standard" weight, maybe even slightly heavier (compared to most of my jerseys). Not particularly meshy. Fabric is slightly more opaque then my Voler jersey. 3 rear pockets. Samples are full-zip, and zippers are mid-weight, and "hidden." The zipper is slightly more compliant/flexible than my cheap Nashbar full-zip. Zipper pull is metal, and in the shape of the Champion logo. All have elasticized waist. Sleeve cuffs do not have elastic.
Shorts: Thinner than my 8 oz. Voler shorts, so I'm guessing these are 6 oz or less. The samples have two different "grippers." One is similar to PI or Voler, with rows of zig-zag ribs. The other is a bit different - tighter weaved ribs, with some embroidery on it that makes them a bit "lumpy." Pads appear to be good/comfortable. The straps/back on the bib shorts are quite a bit wider than my Volers. Samples have the optional race radio pocket.
Both are made overseas, and zippers are by "Hongda." I guess this is how they keep their prices so much lower than others. Still, they appear to be good quality.
Anway, I only can keep the jerseys for 7 days, so I need to return them on Monday, or my credit card gets zapped for $600. So, if you're uncertain about sizing, you may want to check them out. If we ride this weekend, I can bring them, or I can possibly meet during the week. I live in Orange, work in Long Beach. Or, let me know if you have questions or would like particular measurements.

Well, it's hard to say, as I've got several different brands, and I don't know whether they are considered race or club cuts. But, I usually wear a small and the Champion race-cut small seems to fit similarly. The club-cut small is definitely too big for my liking.
I'm not sure how accurate the Champion size chart is. In most brands, a 34-36 is a small, but according to Champions size chart, a 36 is an XS (S=38, M=40, etc). So, I was going to get an XS, but now I'm thinking small might be correct after all. If this proves to be the same for the other sizes, I would say ignore the size chart and buy whatever size you normally buy.
BUT, don't take my word for it. Sizing may not be consistent between sizes and, if in doubt, you should check them out, or take some measurements of your jersey, and I can compare.
I'll fit a race cut small, I hope. If not, I'll just have to lose some weight. :p
I PM'ed you about checking out the samples James. Thanks again for taking care of this!

Yeah, race-cut small might be borderline too small for you, Jason. What size do you normally wear?
My current jerseys are small, and that leaves plenty of wiggle room. (I probably could pack on another 10-15 pounds before starting to worry about fit.) I'll try to measure the width at the shoulders of my jerseys to see. As long as I fit there, I should be just fine.

Hi James, are you 35 or 36? Can you fit in an XS race cut or is it too tight (chest & shoulder tightness)? I have the same dilemma of an XS or S jersey.
Thanks!

Not sure my exact chest size. I would guess 35. Champion didn't send any XS, so I'm not sure how that size runs. Most of my jerseys are size small, 34-36. They fit well in the shoulders/length, but have a little room in the chest/torso. I have a couple of XS jerseys (Performance, Voler), they fit pretty snug (fine) through the chest/torso, but the shoulders are a bit tight, and the overall length is shorter than I like. I need to eat more.
I need to eat more.
Yes you do!

Does Champion have a size chart? I'm still debating on size between M & L, race or full. With all the riding lately, I think I'm turning skinny....:)

Hi Fixer, it's in the first post; here it is again:
http://www.customcyclewear.com/sizechart.htm
Their sizing chart seems to show 1 step larger than the "regular US sizing"; at least at the XS/S end of the spectrum. Based on James sizing test, I'm ignoring their size chart for the race cut XS/S sizes.

Isn't there anyone out there worried more about the jersey fitting through the, uh, middle, rather than how it fits across the chest??!!!?
