I want to, but I'm the world's worst fundraiser, and I don't have $235 to cover the donations myself :(

I only signed up during the last week of August. Dunno if I'm going to get any decent fundraising. Never done that kind of stuff before.

Anyone have any last-minute type suggestions?

WorldPax, are you on any teams?

Technically, I need to put on a Sooner jersey and NOT show up at car dealerships, that's when the money starts rolling in :D

If you're good at working on bikes, I managed to get most of the donations for my Dallas MS150 by doing "free" work on people's bikes, and put a nice big collection jar out.

touche, Well played Sir! Although is you come to Texas all you have to do to get paid is get stoned and pass out in the back seat of a car, while cradling your favorite pistol.

That sounds like a good idea I might try next year when I have more time to plan. Right now I'm just hitting up friends, family, and coworkers. A modest amount but better than nothing.

Dear Friends,

We are sorry to let you know that on Saturday, 15-year old bike tour participant Charlie Vogann died as a result of an accident during our MS Bike Tour. On behalf of the entire Oklahoma Chapter and the National MS Society, our sympathy and support are with the Vogann family during this extraordinarily difficult time. We all are deeply saddened by such a tragic loss.

Safety for our bikers is our primary concern. We do everything we can to ensure that accidents don’t happen during the tour and always review the bike tour route with safety in mind.

Because of this tragedy and the severe weather on Sunday, we cancelled the remainder of the ride. We are grateful for your understanding as we all honor the memory of Charlie Vogann and stay committed to the fight against MS.

If you have any questions or want to send a sympathy note to the family, please contact Paula Cortner at paula(dot)cortner(at)oke(dot)nmss(dot)org.

The Oklahoma Chapter

Sad, sad news. Hit me like a slap in the face when I got to Gruber. I've heard too many conflicting versions of the story to comment on what happened.

My deepest sympathies to the Vogann family and friends. I hope they can pull through this.
