Hey all! My name is Jack, I am 43, happily married with one son, who's 9. I've been cycling for 17 years. I've done 9 MS bike tours and one DC AIDS ride (1998). I lead a group cycling class four days a week and ride outside whenever I can. I have a Trek 2120 road bike, an Iron Horse beater-bike and a Burley tandem that I ride with my son. My wife doesn't ride because of bad knees but she likes it when we're gone because then she has a quiet house to herself. I also take Tae Kwon Do three nights a week as a form of cross training and to keep up with my son who's been taking it for 3 years. I like to brew beer and cook. We live in the DC area and I like to hang out with people of similar interests. Cheers!

Hi Jack - I'm south of Annapolis, 45, and trying to get one of my sons to ride with me because my wife doesn't ride with me either. I'd love to get him to do a metric century or something shorter with me. Have you done any long rides with your son?

Thanks Colorado, I liked that.
Pistachio, the longest ride I've done with him was 22 miles. This was an MS150 ride three years ago. I was riding my beater bike and pulling him behind on a trialer bike (pseudo tandem). Lunch was at mile 26, but his butt got sore and he didn't want to ride any more that day. We met Mom at the 22 mile pit stop and I traded him and the bikes for my road bike; wow what a difference! But now he's older and wearing cycling shorts. We have the tandem and I'm going to try longer rides. A metric century sounds like a good goal for this summer! Thanks, Jack
