I am brand new to the list. Nice to join all of you. I am a regular road biker living in NYC, but would be considered leisurely by anyone serious about riding especially for speed. I am turning 50 next month, so I am probably getting slower rather than faster even if I ride regularly. On the other hand I plan to do 60 miles this Saturday in the NYC Century bike ride, which I try to do every year.
I have 2 issues I am interested in input on. First, anyone have a sense whether I would be foolish to buy a Citizen folding bike for $179 given how cheap that seems. It is an internet offer. I need a folding bike for occasional bike commuting and the like.
Second, I have very wide feet and have not found bike shoes that fit me. Anyone else like me out there who can point me to a store in the NY area where they have a wide shoe in stock that I can try on. I am leery about buying a wide shoe via internet.
Thanks in advance for any input.
