I am a member of the New Zealand Teenage Cancer patients society.

A couple of weeks ago we lost our Auckland president at the age of 19 to cancer, and it has been hard. Today I have just seen another member on TV telling us that he has but a few months to live. This is really hard for me, seeing people my own age dying around me, but i will keep on cycling, for that is what keeps me going. The freedom, the pain. Some people cut themselves. I just go and climb the local hills. Whenever i cycle, it is in loving memory.

Brendon - It's tough to see your friends pass for any reason, but cancer is particularly hard to take. World-wide, we're making progress. We're much further along battling the disease than we were 10 years ago. I just lost my father to cancer last year, my grandfather a number of years ago, and a close friend of mine is fighting it now. You should be proud of your attitude - it sounds like you have been able to face cancer head on. I admire your bravery. Keep your head up.

Wow that's rough. Don't know what to say, but wanted to express support or something.
Sorry
