I mentioned that I post my impressions of the Incredibell Bar End bells (http://www.mirrycle.com/bar_end_new.htm) once I had them installed. I'm not so impressed. The bell is not that loud. But it's pretty noisy dinging along to the bumps, cracks and crevices in the road or path along the way. Kind of like an automatic bell constantly dinging to warn others of your approach. I would not buy again.

It mounts easy and looks cool though. ;)

I was thinking of installing some on the bike I'm rigging up for an all weather commuter. I guess I'll just stick with the lil dingy bell now :)

I second third and fourth that review. I switched to a wing bar and could no longer fit a standard bell on my bike. I purchased the bell Friday and can't stand it. Like stated above, constant rattle and just not loud enough. I did however just purchase the "old style" bar end bell that looks just like a normal bell, but mounts in the bar end. (got 5 of them brand new on ebay for 10 bucks!!!) I will let you all know how that bell works!

Hey cgchambers -- can you give a brand name and model for the "old style" bells? I've been looking for something I can put on my drop bars.

Thanks.

Hey Dynaryder, that bell looks nice!

I bought a cheap mini-bell by Schilling, it works great on my girlfriend's bike, but my thicker drop bars are just too thick. I'm guessing it's for a kids bike or something. I took a 1 1/2" long screw, dremeled off most of the most of the threads, and was able to install it. It's still not very loud, and doesn't work well mounted at a 90 degree angle.

still Incredibell, just the model before. You are in DC, once I receive the bells you are more than welcome to one of them, only bought the lot of 5 because that was the only way they came. Here was the auction

has a pic of the bells.

I have one of those end bells (from that ebay link). Haven't attached it to my bike yet since it's for the new one, but the sucker is quite loud in my opinon.

Finally got the bells, they worked great on the first ride. No more rattle, but only ridden on smooth road so far. Let you know how they work out on bumpy roads and trails next week.

DCCommuter, let me know if you want one of these bells, I am never going to use 5 of them!
