Mountain Biking - Photos from central NC

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

This past sunday, six of us started out at Gastro’s house and pedaled a few miles to the trail head of owls roost. Owls roost is a 5-6 mile long trail at Bur-Mil Park in Greensboro, which is one of many killer trails north of town. This is not really meant to be much of a trail/ride report, just an intro to a bunch of photos.

That’s Bryan. His facial expressions are usually pretty comical. He went with us in this past spring forum ride in Pisgah.

That's a nice camera... Do you have a case that you carry it in or just throw it in your camelbak?

I have a large Kona pack with an internal frame that I stuff my gear in. I usually just wrap my camera in something soft. Not the most ideal situation, but it works for now.

Owls Roost trail is posted as 5.7 miles of singletrack end to end, linked by a paved greenway, although it's definitely worth riding both ways. You can also add the Big and Little loops as shown here (http://www.ridemap.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=20&Itemid=19). (the labeling of the map is not good, but the trails are shown accurately)
Video of Big Loop and Owls Roost here (http://www.ridemap.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=26&Itemid=7).

Sweet Pics! I usually bring my little digital on the trails...already broke one, and not brave enough to bring a badboy camera out there...yet.

Thanks man. Yeah, when I carry the camera gear on the trails, it is more about the photos than the riding. When I go to ride, the camera gear stays at home.
