Yesterday, he had a discussion about future generations being raised as wimps. He brought up about people wearing bicycle helmets and how stupid it is. He said it's not needed and he would never wear one. He said that he crashed once at 35 mph without a helmet and was fine.
I thought to myself how stupid can you be!!!
Pretty much explains G Gordon Liddy then, eh?

He can get away with it probably, but I personally need my brain in order to do my job. I agree that in the majority of crashes, a helmet either does nothing or only stops superficial damage, but I'll gladly wear a helmet the rest of my life to reduce the chances of brain damage from 1 in 500 to 1 in 2000 per lifetime. (made up numbers to make a point).

Yeah, pretty much.

Well, obviously he crashed just before deciding that Watergate would be a good thing...

I once wrapped my car around a telephone pole and was fine. I guess that proves it can't hurt you, eh G?

G Gordon is always trying to make himself look like some macho HE-MAN that take on anything or anybody. I don't think he believes half of what he says.

But hey, let him say what he wants to say. Any young dumbard wishing to grow up big and strong like the G-man is welcome to crash their bike sans helmet to their heart's desire.:p

I always wear a helmet while bicycling. I always wear a 3-point restraint while driving or riding in a car. I am proud to be a wimp.
I am glad Liddy doesn't wear a helmet while bicycling, and I certainly hope he doesn't wear a seatbelt when riding in a car.

Well. I've always figured there is being a whimp and there was being stupid. Old Gordo is pretty good at both since he didn't have the moral fibre to tell Nixon to get stuffed and he was stupid enough to get caught. Now, I suppose all us kids ought to wait on the prognostications of the learned man at the microphone with baited breath.

Of course he was fine. Where there is no central nervous system, head injury is no different from broken finger.

I would wear the helmet Rick Moranis wore in Space Balls if it would save my brain. Plus who wouldnt get out of the way if they saw Dark Helmet riding down the road?

Does he still have that radio show? I used to listen to him back circa 1995 when I lived in DC. What a dumb ass he is. He does always try to look like a tough guy when he's nothing but a criminal felon and a hack at that.
I do have to agree with him on the surface however that we are raising a bunch of wimps.
That wuss was only going 35mph? What are his legs made of wet noodles?

Actually, I crashed once going 36mph without a helmet and was mostly fine (I had plenty of missing skin, but no head injuries) The thing is, if I crashed the same way again I may not be so lucky. :o The guy I used to share an office with listen to G. Gordon Liddy during the day, and most of the time he seemed like a fairly reasonable guy. But every once in a while he'd say something that was just off the wall and illogical. *shrug*

G. Gordon Liddy?!? I thought he was dead. Funny how these assorted nut jobs from the past come out of the woodwork every now and again, isn't it?
Does this mean that if I clobbered him over the head with a long piece of pipe, it would be like Curly on the Three Stooges, with the pipe ending up in the shape of a big U?
G. Gordon Liddy being injured by a head wound is ludicrous. A diamond cutter couldn't dent that skull.
He is such an incompetent thief, that he was convicted, and brought down the presidency, even if he repeatedly practices landing on his head at 35 mph, he could never do it right.

Only if you're doing the Kessel run in less than 12 parsecs.

...well, there have been more than a few racers who have crashed at 35 mph without helmets and have been fine.
I doubt G. Gordon did though. How could he be sure that was the speed? Back in his day, chances are, he just felt he was going fast (for him). He'd have to back that up for any chance of people believing him.

The G-man is my favorite rightwing wacko. in fact the only rightwing wacko I have ever cared to listen to. Listening to Liddy is like hearing your grandpa tell the same war stories over and over again, The older he gets the better he was.
My step-dad (deceased) and Liddy knew each other when they both worked at the Treasury Dept. As my step-dad used to put it " Gordon Liddy is so full of sheot his eyes are brown"
