I think it would be better if we make that decision, you're biased.

Sure! I will post pictures right after Mo'Phat does... he'll be the one wearing the bibknickers in white.
He'll also be covering his boobies. He's a very shy and demure young man.
Anyone who wants to buy me bibs is welcome to do so. Free clothing is always nice.
Now that I have my Spinergys, I resolve to not buy any more bike toys. (Replacing worn out parts, like chain, tires, etc is okay, even if they're flashy enough replacements to be considered toys.) At least until my next century. :o Oh, and I'll grandfather in the lights I've been meaning to get around to buying. I'll still allow myself to buy those if I get around to it.

Good luck with that one! Problem is, it's like the Mafia, once you're 'in', there's really no stopping or getting out...
Well, I haven't done my April century yet, so I've left myself quite a loophole. :D

Are there any bar tape makers that sell in bulk?
Every time I buy tape (which isn't all that often), there's two small rolls with the bare minimum required to wrap standard bars.
Well...I got aluminum wing bars and Fizik Bargel, and I had to really under-wrap my tape to get it to go where I wanted it to go. It would be nice to have a 7,000 meter roll to pull from, that way you can use what you need.
Anybody?

WIMP!!!!! :p I think the first organized ride we're gonna use it for is up in Healdsburg... but of course, lots of practice before then! As of right now, I still plan on using my 'regular' bike for most of the organized rides I've got on the calendar... but that may change

None that I know of, but may I recommend a wider wrapping pattern?
I know this isn’t bike stuff, but I just got a memory foam mattress pad for my bed…WOW, I just thought I was getting old (I am, but that's besides the point), but I guess it was the old down and feather mattress cover that sucked. I also got one of the memory foam pillows to replace the down pillow (with a custom cover, to make it just right) that I’ve been using for about 10 years.
I’ve been sleeping so well since this improvement that I feel I have more energy, for riding!
Beautiful tandem, Trac' !

That's what I meant by 'under-wrapping'. I should have said under-lapping...I had to wrap as wide as possible for it to fit, and I had to stretch it out more than I'd like.

I re-stocked my tire supply (from PBK). I've been using Vittoria Rubino Pro's only because the bike originally came with them. I may give Michelins a shot next time.

Tracy, I have done a little tandem captaining. Two things I can pass along
1. The stoker is always right. Doesn't matter what they say, they are always right, too slow, too fast, too bumpy, too anything, the captain must adhere.
2. You will hear "I didn't know the stoker can put her feet on the handlebars" (or similar) about one million times. Especially on organized rides. Start working on your fake smile now cause it will come in handy after the 4th or 5th thousandth.

Awwww.... where's your sense of adventure???? I'm looking forward to it, but I'm sure there'll be times when I'll choose to be on my own bike! :p We've been talking about trying a tandem for a few months now so when I found this, I grabbed it! I thought Healdsburg would be a good place to try it since its a pretty straightforward route and no major up/down hills... plus its a good place for togetherness
I look forward to hangin' with you and LeeBob in Healdsburg!!!!

we've been talking about it a while.... found this one and snagged it... its a 2004 but has never been ridden. There are a few things that it doesn't have that the newer ones do but the price difference was enough to deter me from going the 'new' route
I was thinking about you guys yesterday... I bet George could track one down pretty easily once he gets past the RAAM training/event :D

Believe me, it is true. Little things when descending down a hill, the stoker can get a little scared because they have absolutely no control. If you are more comfortable going slower, tell the captain. A good captain will listen and adjust accordingly. Once you are more comfortable, you will get back the speed but at first, the stoker is always right.
[edit]
Gosh, I forgot the most important thing, communication. The captain has to call out every bump, turn, when standing, etc. After a while the stoker will pick up the subtle signs and the captain won't have to so much but at first, call out everything!!!

thankfully he's used to doing that stuff anyway (communication) so it'll come naturally, I'm guessing ;)
I'm sure we'll be poking along for the first while as I tend to be a bit chicken anyway, but vmc is rock solid and I trust him completely so I'm guessing it won't take too long to get used to being the stoker! :p

I wanted a Calfee Carbon Fiber tandem... however, the frames themselves are much more expensive than this bike as a whole  I PM'd Mr. Beanz and got a review on his burley and from there decided to go for it!
