Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Rounded Bar Plugs

Hey, I've searched high and low, but I still haven't found anything close to what I'm looking for. That would be: Black bar plugs that are more rounded than flat, preferably something like a half sphere in the radius of your bars. I'm sick of all the branded flat ones and the round ones would be more aesthetically appealing. Anyone know if such a thing exists?

They come with profile aero bars. I've never seen them alone but you might be able to get some left overs if you call around to enough bike shops.

EDIT: or try profile of course.

Yeah, they don't appear to be selling them, but I saw what you were talking about. Anyone have any they'd be willing to spare? I could trade for some generic Cinelli's.. and pay whatever. I just want something that feels and looks good at the end of the cut-off handlebars because I like putting my thumbs there sometimes.. and rounded would look best.

you could stuff a bouncy ball at the end of your bar plugs if you could find some that look nice enough and fit...

DIY.
There are a million things you could glue onto a flat bar plug with a little creativity.

go to a plumbing/diy store. they're probably have similar in chrome or something for plugging into the ends of towel rails.

They come stock with standard cork tape over here. Less than half sphere but still rounded (http://www.pbase.com/wojtek_burkot/image/49244447):

I'm fond of the old chrome steel plugs. They aren't so easy to come by any more, but I have some that came with some cloth bar tape. If you want a pair IM me, and we can do a trade for some equally trivial bike bit.

Use cork from champagne bottles. Unlike wine bottle corks, these corks have round spherical ends.

Wow, you guys have some good ideas.. but the ones you linked to were domes, just like the ones I have now, although the Zipp ones looked really nice.

The bouncy-ball idea was great, I had something similar, but I was making it way too complex... thinking about mounting the head on an expander :P.. if I could find some way to make the transition between the grip and plug smoother, this might be the ticket. Maybe I'll get one that has a diameter of about 2mm more than the outside of my handlebars, then shave off enough so it'll fit, then glue it and the grip tape edge to the part of the ball that protrudes.. I'm going overkill, but that's the part I look at and touch most, so it has to be nice.

The cork idea was good, my friend just used some corks for the plugs on his bars (normal, not rounded ones), but I don't think they're durable enough.

Time to source some bouncy balls :)

To fit it, I just scored it in a hemisphere and shaved off enough so I could plug them in there.
