So it's never occured to me how to get over the Ben Franklin Bridge. do they allow you to ride/walk your bike over, or is there no bikes at all. a shoulder maybe? anyway i'm looking to make it over to Glassboro, NJ. any help would be great

yeah, you can ride over the ben franklin. go up 5th, and instead of going in the tunnel, go around and back the wrong way down race for a bit, go up toward the bridge and if the south side is open (the better way) you go over there, or there is a tunnel underground (steps) that puts you on the otherside. if you're going over the north side, the jersey side sucks. it gets pretty narrow at the end and there are poles in the way (it's pretty fun). but yeah, have at it. it closes at 7, though, so don't get stuck in jersey.

He's got it.

I was riding back and forth across it on Wedn. morning. The sidewalk is big and pretty fun to ride up and down except for the occasional huge metal divets or whatever.

... and yeah, you don't want to get stuck in Camden.

(i knew that) (not to be rude at all)...sorry, that was unneccesary. and because i knew you were on the south side i shouldn't have asked if was the south side was open, because that was obviously the case...(you see, it goes both ways)

FWIW, PATCO can be easily hopped if you get stuck in camden. anyone ever ride in the BF roadway?

riding the bridge is piece of cake. i don't like heights either. and i thought about riding the roadway one day that the ped bridge was snowed out (closed) and i had a run to camden, but i wussed out (and my dispatcher told me not to.
