Looks like I might be able to afford only one Tufo clincher-tubular. My other is some sort of Ritchey, which worked well last year in the C race. My question: where should I put the Tufo? Front or back? I'm thinking back because that is where most of my pinch flats happen. But then front gets a lot of traction . . .

Put your wider tire in the front or the one that grips better, thats how i set it up, as a matter of fact I cant remember the widths but my tufo tubular in the front is 2 mm wider than the one in the back.
If you set it up wiht the grippey tire in the back the front may slide or wash out, im not shure though. anyways hope this helps

The tire with more grip goes up front. When you corner, one tire will skid before the other. You want that to be the back tire.

I think the Ritchey has better tread, especially in grass. So if I have that up front and the Tufo in back, I think I have the best of both worlds. The only time I've pinch flatted was on a single-track section through woods, slammed my rear wheel on a root.
