Friday, I achieved my first face plant since Summer 1970.

Since Sunday morning, my nose and lip are back to normal size. My elbow is still very scraped and I still sneeze a little red.

A shout out to the fine people of Ward Parkway Shopping Center Security for picking me up and tending to my wounds not long after my unfortunate meeting with a water valve cover, and, subsequently, the ground. They will receive a big batch of cookies this week.

Glad to hear you're recovering and that there were people there to help you.

Sounds like a bad one! Those parking lots are pretty bad sometimes.

Good luck, hope you're back on the road soon.:D

Jonathan, I hope you will be completely recovered very soon!

Once when I rode out to Ward Parkway Shopping Center, I pulled into the underground parking area, and a security guy showed me where I could tie my bike up to a stair railing where he could easily keep it in view. So I had a good experience with those people, too.

I'm very very glad you are o.k., man. Here's to a very fast healing, mate!

(Don't do that, Jonathan! ;))

Thank you very much.

Actually, to allay any wonder, I haven't stopped riding. I have to breaks, just a lot of scratches, and some minor swelling. My right wrist has a little swollen tissue that diminishes my range of motion backwards a little. I'm still functional, though, and riding as much as ever.

Strangely, my face, which seemed to catch most of my weight, isn't so bad. My lip and nose were very swollen for a couple days. I figured my face would look pretty rough for a couple weeks, but I haven't had any noticeable swelling since Sunday.

Thank you all for your kind words.

Jonathan

Again, Jonathan, I'm sorry...
