My wife and I went shopping for a new car stereo for her car. The salesguy was heavily trying to push XM Radio on us. My wife professed to listening to sports in her car (she's a baseball fan) and the salesguy gave us a brochure that listed a bunch of sports stations. Glancing over her shoulder I noticed that OLN was listed and exclaimed "sold!" which extracted a glare from my wife (she finds bike races boring).

At anyrate, has anyone listened to OLN on XM radio? Do they broadcast all the cycling programs they have on OLNtv? I'm starting to think that maybe I want XM radio for my own vehicle now just to get OLN.

Think DirecTV...

It requires a special tuner and antenna (~US$150) and you pay a monthly subscription fee (~US$15/mo). It can certainly add up. I'm not sure it's worth it and at first, my wife and I told the salesguy we weren't interested in it but he kept pushing harder. However, once I found out that they broadcast OLN... well.. it still might not be worth it but it certainly makes it more interesting. |8^)

I can't imagine anything more boring than OLN on radio !!! I love watching the TDF and Giro, etc., but I doubt if I could listen to them. And can you imagine Hunting with Hank over the radio airwaves?!! Probably better to get Tivo to record the cycling events and watch them at your leisure.

I've heard a lot about XM (satellite) radio but I don't know anybody who has it.

Let us know what you find.

I actually have OLN removed from my favourites channel listing on my DirecTV tuner. What I do is program the tuner to continuously search for "bicycle" so the channel only shows up in the guide when a cycling related show comes on.
